Tits, asses and mechs. The people who work at Xebec are by far the most respectable individuals in the industry and have been for ages. If this studio ever dies then anime does as well, at least to me. Still blows my mind how something as into the the face as Love-Ru can be legitimately funny, Xebec outdoes itself with every project they take serious and if they want to accumulate funds they make shit like Clockwork Planet or help out on Love Hina, just so that they have more time to spend on their true love child: Fafner. Their upcoming version of Full Metal Panic will probably be revolutionary to say the least.

Keijo was the best parody of the Shonen genre could ever conceive.

On his latest blog post, author mentioned that some time ago he and his editor were surprised when contacted by a Portugal sports association which wanted to try making Keijo into a real sports.

It's currently in test phase, and he is looking forward to see what will come of it. It would be really impressive if the sport he came up with ended up becoming a real thing.

Wonder if Rio would've gotten more endurance compared to Nozomi's match, and if there would've been an arena which either one or both of them could take advantage of.

As a manga/anime series, it doesn't seem to be commercially sustainable (no support from the magazine, not enough people buying the manga), at least as things are now. Maybe later, though.
It could be a remake of the manga, or a spin-off with new characters (I was thinking that a new MC could attempt to become a Keijo player and eventually play against the characters we already know, or could be inspired by the characters from Nozomi and Maya's generation), or a spin-off with Fuyuyu as the MC, for example (so we could maybe see matches from older players like Ujibe, Ayako and others as flashbacks)

The anime didn't kill the manga. It actually may have given it a longer stay, considering that without it they may have asked for him to wrap up things earlier (giving an author an 6 month early warning is rare, many get only a few chapter to finish). Also the anime and anime staff helped motivate the author to finish it the best he could when he was bothered by the manga treatment by the magazine / the order to end it.

Many shounen sports anime/manga tend to have absurd feats to some extent (similar to some battle shounen levels that aren't full on fantasy and magic or sci-fi), which they also tend to try explaining in a way that it feels like it make sense, but wouldn't really actually work in real life.

Keijo is especially absurd because the idea of the sport itself already is absurd, and not because it exaggerate more than your usual shounen sport story.
