I understand that anime have to cut things from the novels but why would the director cut the important parts and instead include as many fanservice scenes as possible or even scenes that amount to nothing or even scenes that ruin an character (I'm looking at Lefiya!).

I enjoyed it. Lefiya could be a bit obnoxious but it was bearable. I liked seeing actual seasoned adventurers at work and having actual stories happening as opposed to just Bell's "I must get stronger." Also I just enjoyed having a larger cast of characters in general.
