Adapting a manga to a single movie means you have no choice but to cut some stuff. It's sad that they cut a lot of the side characters' backstories, but overall the movie was still very good imo.

Just finished the movie. Honestly it wasn't that good. Whenever the whole group got together they just kind of repeated the same discussions they had the previous times (huurrr i hate you durrr you bully). Interactions between main cast barely changed despite the incredibly dramatic things that were happening.

Also being deaf doesn't mean you're a literal retard. I get the voice but sometimes she just acted like she was actually clinically stupid.

Yamada is overrated, but I also think that adapting the manga into a film was doomed from the start. Not enough time.
