The series is basically an audiobook. I would suggest reading the ln then watching the series to see it animated for you. If you're too smart for picture books then I would suggest reading some of Kafka or Dostoevsky.

It's just one single novel, with 3 arcs. Owari vol 1 is about as long with also 3 arcs (Ougi Formula, Sodachi Riddle and Sodachi Lost) and was adapted in 2 and a half hours (7 episodes). They'll like usual rush/cut some parts and try to present a good faster pacing, but still annoy people since their favorite dialogues parts weren't adapted perfectly.
