How gorey will the anime be or do we still not know?
I recommended this one to my mom because she wants something new to watch this season and this is the only thing that appeals to her interests.

She can handle some violence and I've seen how bad it gets in the manga but I'm wondering how it will be translated over. I think a lot of the impact of those scenes won't be as intense in the anime. Am I wrong?
I'm going to scan each episode to see how bad it gets before showing her though.

Sadly. I only ever read fully typeset manga too, not posted translations, so that further limits me. It was good timing on my part because v4 had just been released, I read slowly and it took me two very comfy but emotional evenings to read the 4 volumes. I think part of what makes that scene so horrible is that the "please kill me" was genuine. In an instant she was turned from a state of extreme fear and resolve to stay alive for her friend to a state of such intense pain, confusion and overwhelming panic that she just couldn't keep her will to live for Nanachi. She was overwhelmed and couldn't think of anything but wanting to die to end the state she was in, she probably wasn't even capable of thinking of what it would mean for Nanachi if she actually died there or the fact that there was no real way for the latter to actually kill her when they were separated by the glass. She might not have even remembered what she said just a minute before because of how catastrophic a change it was as she began to be elevated back up. It's not in any way her fault but a testament to how terrifying it was and how helpless they were.

But then again maybe through all of that she, deep down, didn't want to die for the sole reason that it would doom her friend and that was the reason she was turned into an immortal rug.

I think as a general rule, becoming a "rug" results in immortality given how the new village we've encountered is portrayed. "Rugs" are just the generic form of people that don't have incredibly strong wills, but those that do can gain forms more tailored to their desires. We also see a lot of very similar looking creatures to Mitty in Bondrewd's Little Garden.
