Is manga better colored?
Depends on the manga, if the series is bright, colourful and clean (most shounen shit), then yes, if the manga is more dark and has more shading (most seinen shit) then no
>implying Japanese comics need colors to tell interesting stories like American comics.

I don't like the JoJo fancoloring at all.

Color printing is incredibly expensive, which means a higher barrier to entry for new/niche/experimental works.
Also we get enough incomplete works or delays with B&W. I don't want to die of old age before my favorite series complete.

That's not fancolouring, Shueisha put out novelty colour digital JoJo chapters for one of the anniversaries. They're still shit because they were a novelty item and not intended to be an actual replacement or anything. Araki's actual colouring is pretty good though despite his odd colour choices at times, shame he doesn't have time to colour them himself and we get Shueisha interns pumping them out on a lunch break.

Not a big fan of Shueisha's general coloring jobs. It's always pretty sad to see those fancolored ToLoveRu pages compared to the official versions. Even if they put in a bit of effort for the characters, the environs oftentimes look pretty poor in color, and they end up looking like paintbucket jobs.
