Haven't seen iM@S yet but Love Live was pretty bad so I would say I probably would prefer the former even though it's still in my backlog. Snow Halation is pretty great though, and of course everyone loves fanart.

CG has my favorite girls, but it also has my least favorites. Love Live is more consistent in that I like all of them to varying degrees. Original Idolmaster girls are all decent but nothing special.

As far as the shows, it's CG > Idolmaster > Love Live. I didn't watch Sunshine though. I appreciate Love Live having a more personal reason for the idol stuff than "because it's our job" shit in Idolmaster but the show just kind of drug on and wasn't all that interesting or funny.

I didn't much care about idolshit either way until this cutie started cropping up in my pixiv searches and on sadpanda. Seikon No Qwaser content had all but dried up, so having a new resident cowgirl was welcome.

Nip kids don't shut up about love live and they have merchandising out the asshole, it didn't strike a chord with me. I usually skip the singing - especially when MMD model animations are involved.

What's more is that there is so much more distinctive variety in character archetypes in im@s.

That's a pretty broad statement considering iM@S has something around 80 GB of albums ranging from Jpop, all the way to Country, and even an entire album of bossa nova songs, a bunch of albums using only 8-bit music, and it's all top notch.

I sincerely doubt Muse has that quality and range.
