The scenarios are usually absurd and over dramatic, which works when you just want to jack-off, but in a legitimate dramatic scenario it leads to either frustration over how contrived the plot is or unintentional comedy. Hack authors incorporate a fetish into their writing, thinking it's some crazy twist or a DECONSTRUCTION OF THE ROMANCE GENRE THAT'S GOING TO BLOW MINDS. It's in poor taste.

NTR is like any other torture, it can be extremely satisfying to see it happening to a character that you hate. The problem is that so much of it is aimed at low self-esteem cuckold fetishists who like suffering. It's like the type of lolicon porn where gross bums or sadists rape, break and sometimes kill cute innocent girls. I can't just "enjoy the porn" no matter how well it is drawn when everything that's happening is so morally repugnant, just like I can't "insert as the one doing the NTR" when he's a despicable human being destroying people's lives.
