Give me one good reason this isn't the best TV anime

The only good parts of that anime are the actual rakugo scenes. The rest of the shitty shoujo drama stuff was a complete slog to sit through.

It does nothing interesting with the medium like Ping Pong.

I liked ping pong more, but I can't disagree with that statement. The only shows that can even compete are Haikyuu, Shirobako, Fafner Exodus, and 3-gatsu.

Cast is not mostly or all female. Both are pretentious tripe.

It's really poorly written and contrived conflicts.
Extremely boring, predictable, isn't remotely unique or interesting and really bad story telling.

Probably one of the worst shows to come out in recent memory.

It didn't pull any punches. That's about it. The first and second ops create such an amazingly grim atmosphere I was surprised by how genuinely dry the series was in it's storytelling. The drama doesn't ask enough from its characters and it never really connects to the rakugo carreer in general. It drolls. It's not bad but I would never recommend this to anybody that isn't interested by rakugo.

I thought it was well written. An anime that follows multiple generations of characters and develop's their personalities and relations is virtually non-existent. The show even shifts main characters throughout
