If we're talking mathematics then no. Literature and/or anime both far excel past manga for their own reasons (detail, movement, buzzwords, etc.). I think the only reason manga is good is because the stories and art are good. Think american comic books. On a technical level they should be the same but I fucking hate comics.

Good questions for once, OP you massive fucking faggot. I'd say it really depends on the story and author and the creator/illustrator/developer/whatever the fuck's talent.

For example, you can have a shitty light novel which would make an equally shitty anime or comic. The writing can be utter trash, making the novel suck. And then the anime adaptation would suck due to no innovation being taken with it, no interesting use of the medium. Because that's what matters with this: using the medium to your advantage.

Using a different medium can allow it to stand head and shoulders above an alternate version. For example, the original ASOIF books sucked in terms of writing. But the show was so good due to this - as its excellent quality made it infinitely better, as it used the medium to its advantage.

There are lots of ways manga can be better than other forms of media (e.g. using the page turning to create tension or hide things), but it also can't match the way a novel can communicate feelings or thoughts, or what anime can do with shots and music.

It certainly has the potential. If the author has enough talent he can depict the images (he would otherwise have to use words for) that he plans to provoke in your had anyway. With literature the transmission from sender to receiver is more prone to noise and failure. But a drawing is a drawing, but have to be blind or retarded to not get "the picture". Depicting visual information is the oldest (caveman) and most sophisticated way of storytelling, emphasis on story. Of course math, fact book prose etc. are better suited for their respective fields. With manga you have the advantage to complement your pure image of mind with abstract thought (speech) if necessary. The conveying of information is the better the more you can avoid needless translation/transcription. And there is no more direct connection between author and recipient than through conveying both visual and abstract information like in manga, assuming the author has the ability to perfectly depict his mental image. Think Blame.
