I just found this manga two days ago and am now at chapter 240. Pretty fun so far.

Probably out of nowhere Shiba Shou attacks Kanki's army and liberates Gyou. Riboku's forces push back Ousen's forces (cause historically Riboku never lost a battle) and the Yotanwa army pushes back Shinsuiji army).

It will be 1-1 in army victories, and Qin's army will be back to 0 trying to conquer Zhao when Gyou didn't fall.

Or nothing of the bullshit above and just call Houken.

it's literally just pseudo-political bullshit followed by battles that are pretty much the same thing every time with either cartoonish looking buff men cleaving through angry faced grunts until they have some sort of duel with no real coreography to it or a couple smart characters going "keikaku doori" on each other while buff men cleave through troops

it's basically dynasty warriors, but with shitty graphics and no weapon variety

and i'm not even sure why we should still sympathize with the main characters, since they decided to just invade people out of sheer powerlust.

Ultimately, Riboku gets executed by the king after Zhao gets turbofucked by an earthquake and famine. This, however is later - right now, Qin will gain some territories but it will be a stalemate. Then there's a failed Qin-Wei invasion of Chu. Han is the first state to fall. Kanki is supposed to have another Kokuyou-level victory and becomes the main anti-Zhao general for a while, then he gets defeated by Riboku but Kanki's army killed so many that there wasn't a complete rout. Kanki escapes from Qin.

I wouldn't say he's on par with Houken but at the very least he's capable of holding his own. He was able to force Shin back but it's been a few years since that in-universe. Him, Ousen, and Kanki are all probably the same level of strength where they're capable of defending themselves but you won't see them out there fighting duels like Houken, Moubu, or even Tou.
