It's still quite the generic battle shonen, but I also read other generic stuff like Hero Academia so I don't mind generic that much as long as the characters don't get super annoying(which sadly it's happening in BnHA since AFOvsOFA)

It's not offensively terrible, but it's painfully generic. However, the art is good enough that I keep reading, hoping that something will surprise me.

The art carries it hard.

Bleach comparisons were what brought it to people's attention, though.

Fun premise. Kinda lame execution so far. I hope the author gets out of the derivative rut and introduces a decent villain soon rather than the generic mooks. Also really needs some more expansive worldbuilding.

Problem is you kind of need generic mooks in order to let the main characters grow without too much risk. If you do anything otherwise then you encounter a situation where no one believes any of them should even be alive and the villains are just jobbing.

If you constantly have someone more powerful bail them out then you lose all sense of risk that helps facilitate the reader's belief in growth. You also flip the villain situation onto the heroes with the main cast looking like they're sent out there to job until the real characters show up.

Ragou already has stated limitations to his power though. A One-time thing with him weakening afterwards isn't an asspull, there's more than enough basis in the plot that is already available.
