When this shit aired we didnt had many options for entertainment besides american cartoons and, mind bending '80s astroboy and Mazinger Z. I see as someone maybe add old as you (almost 30, I guess) those limitations made me want to see more. And maybe because of that is the reason I enjoy anime to these days. And yes TV was bad, so in a sense in despise the nostalgia fags, I remember passing months in wait just to know what happens after namek.
And remember that kid who had a cousin, and the cousin already had watched the whole series, and then invented the wildest things about dragon Ball, deep inside everybody knew it v was bullshit, but it was fun. When someone talks about the new dragon Ball, it sounds at least to me, like that kid.
