Is not that I dislike Schierke but since she joined the party the manga gone into a spiral downfall.

Before her the manga had a pretty unique setting and vibe, since she incorported this became more and more generic fantasy.

Miura could have introduced her as mage but kept the setting as it was, all the safety she brought to the party make this manga boring as hell.

I really think that arc, with them battling the trolls and the like, is the best berserk has been since the golden age. it voices the whole "fairy tale but its perverted by human power lust" theme really brilliantly. the scene with griffith saving charlotte from the tower... and guts becoming the "big bad wolf"... it's great.

I think you're blaming the wrong thing. The reason the manga is "safe" is because Guts isn't actively looking for fights, because he's actively trying to find a safe way to deal with Casca instead. It's specifically Casca's fault that things have been completely sidetracked from demon slaying. All Schierke has done is tag along the way and be the only character in the entire manga to actually be worth spending panels on fighting alongside Guts.
