Sawatari vs Yuya 1 wasn't the fastest or most exciting duel ever, but at least the set piece was nice and Sawatari himself had more personality on-screen, even if he's mostly a one-note character through all his phases. I dunno, I'd even argue the duel in episode 4 of Zexal felt like it had more action going on.

I don't want to be too harsh on Vrains since it's only 4 episodes, but if this is all they can do for the first impressions of the show, this director is looking like another dud.

I think the problem with this show is that its trying too hard.
It shoves a ton of plot into the first episodes, which should catch people's attention, but doesnt because there isnt enough action to back it up.

As fun as it is to meme about ARC-V being the worst thing ever. Most of ARC-V is pretty decent by YGO standards. It doesn't have 100 eps of nigh unwatchable garbage (Season 4, the Virtual world filler before Battle City Finals, & the adaptation of Millennium World). The only really good part of DM's anime is Battle City. Even Duelist Kingdom is just kinda middle of the road.

I'd say there's a decent case to say ARC-V is the better viewing experience if we're talking about each show as a whole.
