Hard to say. I want to say that Akainu is the final battle, cause Luffy and his volunteer army will have to fight the Marine's navy and World Gov' ala White Beard to claim One Piece, but it's clear Blackbeard is destined to fight him too cause of their history together, yet Blackbeard's goal isn't One Piece itself but to rule the world.

Oda will probably put Blackbeard vs Luffy after Kaidou, so yeah, Akainu will be the final big bad at the end of One Piece. Could be wrong though, going into the Big Mam arc, I swore up and down that Luffy wasn't going to fight and beat her due to his crew being split up but look at how that swirl of shit turned out. Big Mam arc is a complete mess thematically; devoid of direction and purpose but it's happening none the less.

Big Mam arc just FEELS like a big directionless, pointless waste of time filler, that's actually important and canon.

The Ancients managed to destroy all but One Piece of Satan, so they had to seal him inside of a tree. Then the quarantined the whole island and made damn sure nobody could unseal him. Satan began leaking his power into the tree's fruit so that they'd float into the world and give people the power to break him out. The WG leaders are Satanists who wiped out the Ancients because everyone would stop trying to break into Raftel if they found out that the "treasure" is unleashing Satan upon the world.

Those who possess the Will of D can murder Satan. Roger failed to murder Satan, but he knew that people possessing the Will of D would be tempted by adventure and someone else would eventually make it to Raftel.

They DID just get a Road Poneglyph which is the most significant jump to finding One Piece they have ever made so far in the series.

Give it to Robin and they're 50% there, Kaido has the other one and i'm guessing either the Marines or Celestial Dragons hold the last one.
