Why did Satoshi Kon peak with his first film?

He didn't. He kept improving.

This
Paprika was fine.

You really can't say the guy peaked, due to his premature death. I would have loved to see what else he could have made.
I saw Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika.
Perfect Blue is the worst off those 3.
Maybe you need to be a women to enjoy Perfect Blue.
I worried about dream machine

Paprika is easily his worst work and anyone who thinks it's good proves he knows nothing about movies.

Paprika's soundtrack hard-carried the film. The film had an poorly executed plot and narrative. The visuals were fantastic but it wasn't a music video - so yeah, about a 7/10 if I don't dock it for wasted potential.
I think Millennium Actress was his greatest work.

Paprika was just "Satoshi Kon presents: Serial Experiments Lain" except it wasn't as good.
That soundtrack was pretty damn good though.

Same here

Fpbp. Every work that Kon did was masterful in its own way. Also if you shittalk Paprika then you are a fucking hipster.
>>157665116
Because he's a pretentious hack like Yuasa.
>>157665116
But he didn't.
Milennium Actress was his best.
