The thing is, Shinobu Mail and Owari made it pretty clear Araragi himself does not want to part with her, even if better circumstances are presented. Turning Shinobu into a god would have solved a lot of shit, it would have turned Araragi human and saved Shinobu from living as a vampire, kind of a happy ending to Kizu, the happy ending Araragi wanted. But in both cases Araragi refused this ''happy ending''.

The first thing Araragi wanted from her was to turn him back into a human. Nisio trapped himself in a really tense situation. Saying that one girl will have him until he dies so the other can have him afterward is pretty bad unless Crab just folds entirely, gives up and lives the rest of her life knowing she is the side chick even if she marries him. That would be something so shitty Araragi could never talk his way out of it. Hanekawa would sock him if he even suggested hurting Crab like that. If Cat and Crab did end up together, I have a feeling Cat and Araragi would butt heads like crazy, and it would get pretty bad.

Nisio could time skip it all to after Hitagi dies, and avoid the matter entirely, only showing the results, but the results wouldn't be pretty either. I mean, if he has kids he will outlive them, he has to explain to them that "Aunty" Shinobu and him are together now, and all that shit.

The only way he can really not wade through the shit that is coming is to put the lid on the trashcan for as long as possible, but it won't stop stinkin'.

I think she kind of knows it, since he always puts Shinobu above everyone else and Shinobu does the same. The relationship he has with her is closer than family or love in usual human sense. Hitagi knows that if she tries to separate them then Araragi will tell her to fuck off, so she needs to bear it, that is if she HAS any troubles with their relationship. But it seems that she understands.

That honestly has to be the best part of all this. You have someone facing down the single strongest oddity in existence, there is nothing holding her back mentally, physically or emotionally and yet even at full power, in the one situation in 500 years where there is reason to kill someone and yet Gaen just doesn't die.
Kiss-shot has been played so hard by a normal human that she has been neutered and any action against Gaen would be detrimental towards Araragi.

People are just going to be happy Gaen is getting choked the fuck out but that is honestly going to be Gaen's best scene just based on context alone.

Because that's what was responsible for the world not being destroyed. Kiss-Shot of May would have splattered Gaen all over the shrine.

Oshino was the one guiding Araragi and Shinobu's relationship until it became relatively stable, and he was also the one who set up Tadatsuru to allow Araragi to be revived in the first place. Well Hanekawa did it first in Kizu really, she talked down full Kiss-Shot and ended her suicide by cop routine even when threatened by those super eye lasers Kiss-Shot has.

I mean, I think I know why Gaen is always such a wise ass about Hanekawa, she does all this cool shit, but none of the exorcists ever teach her anything.

A regular human girl subjugated two oddities she CREATED from nothing inside herself with no ill effects, managed to rangle Meme back and foil all of Ougi's plans without violence, saved a town and had several other oddity cases without any supernatural instruction whatsoever. No exorcist in the story has ever attempted to or desired to teach her, even Nadeko gets more cooperation, training and an actual job working oddity related stuff in her arcs.

I gotta ask, are all the exorcists (except maybe Kaiki and Drama-kun) naturally just butthurt an amateur is this gifted? Oshino seems that way at least, Gaen makes a lot of passive aggressive remarks about her too. You'd think she would get formal training, if only to put a leash on her.
