Yeah. I can't wait for this season to finally end.
LN fag here: if it gets 12 episodes (which should be enough to cover the volume) it'll probably be good. Not really excited for it though.
you = gay. I don't care what happens after Owari. The only reason I want to finish Owari is because cour 1 ended with a big gap and nothing big being resolved. Anything after that as far as I'm concerned are side stories or extended epilogues.
>a big gap and nothing big being resolved
Funny you should mention that.
i mean youre right, but why would you save any of the shit quality screenshots ive put on here
Dunno man, I save a lot of shit
Should be fun, but I really need more math, it really should have had zoku, I wonder if it's not 12-13 episode as well.
fuck yeah,i can't wait to hear koyomi's voice again,i love it.But there's only one thing, that i hate about monogatari, and its these fucking screens with text that go way too fast, and i can't read it
A remake having this cutie since bake.
It was only broken mid SS because Shaft ran out of time to get enough good content in and animated correctly. Also, kinda during Hana because Numachi is the most retarded character Nisio has ever written.
He finished the main story as is stands in the anime, then did some side stories, and now he's starting a new main story.
>I dunno if the downloads have been updated since the nyaapocalypse
Shit I forgot about that
Time to MEGA them all I guess?
That could work too
I'd rather host them on my own servers but that's like... 55gb or so
Pretty much. The implications of what is essentially both sides of Araragi going, "fuck she's good" is pretty great.
Ougi admitting defeat like that was the cherry on top. Plus it's nice that Hanekawa is showing that competitive fire she has.
Here is the spoilers for the latest book
And translated chapters with Hitagi and Sodachi
Getting to see this animated and also Shinobu leg locking Araragi while sitting.
They have to run out of excuses sometime
> is there little dialogue and much fanservice?
Her boobs were really big in the novel. Almost as big as Kissshot's.
You guys are lying bastards just watched half episode 1 and it's nothing but jibberish.
Hyped for Hanekawa, even if she only gets a couple good scenes at the end. It'll be great to see her threaten to flip Araragi's ass when he starts eyeing her up.
Too bad we don't get to see full Kamikuji until later.
Senjougahara's front would immediately collapse if they did that. She can take a lot of things, but I'm pretty sure her stoneface facade would crumble if Araragi dared do so.
If she had video footage of the stuff he does, it would take three seconds for her to just straight up break it off and become lesbian bed buds with Cat. You can literally hear her teeth grinding during the commentaries where she sees some of his crap.
The ones for Nise, iirc it was episode 2, because they commented on his antics with Nadeko. They even started the commentaries roasting him on his molestation practices despite having a girlfriend.
Cat and Crab doing commentaries together usually have ice burns on Araragi's shenanigans when they see them.
Crab jokes around, but if Araragi went too far, it'd be over. Shinobu and Gahara may be at a stalemate for now, but if either crossed a line or demanded actual fidelity from him, then Araragi would be forced to make a decision, and they both fear that, so they don't push. It's a situation of feigned ignorance where he somehow believes he is being faithful.
If he had gotten with Cat, she wouldn't have that shit at all.
Get a load of this guy!
I hope that if anything is being milked, it's Hanekawa, in doujins to be sold at C92
> Shinobu and Gahara may be at a stalemate for now, but if either crossed a line or demanded actual fidelity from him, then Araragi would be forced to make a decision, and they both fear that, so they don't push. It's a situation of feigned ignorance where he somehow believes he is being faithful.
Please Nisio don't ruin everything. Breakups were enough.
>If he had gotten with Cat, she wouldn't have that shit at all
Wouldn't have kinda been the same situation? Araragi's girlfriend aisde, you can't just make Shinobu disappear out of Araragi. I honestly don't think the situation with Senjougahara and Shinobu would be different with Hanekawa.
Gean did say that Ararago chose Shinobu above everyone
Shinobu is mostly selflesh, she cares way more about Araragi's happiness. If anyone is gonna push this to happen it will be Crab. Crab herself will also never push this. Araragi and Shinobu will never willingly seperate from each other and Crab forcing Ararago to chose will end badly for her. That's pretty much confirmed already.
If both Crab and Shinobu will not push this to happen, then who will? I think deathtopia will confront Shinobu about her current situation.
> I think deathtopia will confront Shinobu about her current situation.
I'm expecting something like this too.
Crab can push it in case of her pregnancy probably but I don't think Nisio will go this way. It's stupid.
I never said toss Shinobu out, but nobody willingly let's someone else fondle their significant other unless their is either a mutual agreement, or someone forces themselves to compromise. Here it's the latter.
Gahara doesn't say anything because she doesn't want to rock the boat, and Shinobu doesn't get piss about dates, but fondles Araragi on her own time. It's a strained thing that will eventually get strained even more as Gahara and Koyomi try to deal with marriage.
He knows based on how Hanekawa is that she wanted a serious relationship from the jump, and he knows she always warns him about what he is doing. If she was his girlfriend, she wouldn't tolerate a lot of the crap he pulls. Even the stuff he does out of eyeshot she has almost clairvoyant insight into it.
Plus Basa-nee is the type that would be comfortable ending a relationship if she saw the writing on the wall, like we can see with Araragi and Shinobu. She would just leave Araragi, but probably would stay friends.
Gahara will bend until she breaks for Araragi, which is quite unfair for her, let's be honest. Araragi, for some reason, still considers himself faithful in body and mind, which he is of course not.
My waifu literally can change her gender anytime she wants.
> still considers himself faithful in body and mind, which he is of course not.
He is pretty faithful. Aside from stupid nisio's siscon and lolicon jokes.
He rejected Hanekawa twice without hesitation. And come on - we can't judge him for some thoughts in his head. In Musubi we can clearly see how much he loves Hitagi.
Ok, yes I can see your point
Faithful, Araragi's whole relationship with Shinobu is something unfaithful towards Senjougahara. Araragi is litteraly married to Shinobu they both vowd to each other. The only differnce between this and normal marriage is that not even death does those two apart.
the only reason Araragi thinks so, is because he considers Shinobu part of ''himself'' And this is yet again another reason not to fuck each others brains out.
>5 minutes of Hanekawa makes her superior to everyone else once again
HOW CAN SHE BE SO PERFECT
He rejected Hanekawa because he already had this twisted ideology from Neko Black in his head that he couldn't answer her feelings, and even still to this day in Musubi despite seeing all sides to her and she seeing all sides to him, still thinks of himself as lesser in her presence. Based on innumerable parts of the story, it had nothing to do with love, and several characters call him on it.
But here I was talking about Shinobu, and the ever increasing intimacy the pair of Araragi and Shinobu have. If Gahara and Shinobu openly accepted the other and acknowledged the shared affections they have for him, it would be fine. However that isn't the case here. They tolerate each other's presence because of him, not a mutually inclusive relationship that is aware of Araragi's obvious splintered affections.
They tip toe around each other and never interact, Shinobu gets all the affection she wants when she wants it, and for her part leaves the relationship he has with Hitagi alone, Hitagi we know tolerates Shinobu, but only because she isn't fully aware of the deepening intimacy the two have, but she knows Shinobu holds a special place in his heart. It's for the same reason that her friendship with Hanekawa is called strange by many characters and her awkwardness toward Hanekawa at times is known even by Araragi's dense ass. Bit in that respect, Hanekawa faces Hitagi directly and they communicate, Shinobu doesn't. Because she doesn't have to, since Hitagi doesn't want to rock the boat.
That is okay for teenage dating, but those two are setting themselves up to be wed.
It's not a stable thing if you do that with a guy who you don't even know what he'd do if something happened to Shinobu, and he continues to delve himself further into the world of oddities, so anything can happen. Not saying this to imply he should cut the bond with Shinobu, but that this relationship of feigned ignorance and lack of communication doesn't seem to do them any favors.
> That is okay for teenage dating, but those two are setting themselves up to be wed.
Nisio will come up with something. Or he will continue to ignore it.
In Musubi Hitagi wasn't worry about Shinobu. She wanted to be with Araragi no matter what.
>That is okay for teenage dating, but those two are setting themselves up to be wed.
Agree with this
>Not saying this to imply he should cut the bond with Shinobu
The thing is, Shinobu Mail and Owari made it pretty clear Araragi himself does not want to part with her, even if better circumstances are presented. Turning Shinobu into a god would have solved a lot of shit, it would have turned Araragi human and saved Shinobu from living as a vampire, kind of a happy ending to Kizu, the happy ending Araragi wanted. But in both cases Araragi refused this ''happy ending''.
>"No, perhaps she really did have no choice in matter. After all, I, at the very least, can no longer envision a future without Shinobu in it"
By turning Shinobu into a god he would have given up on the chance to see Shinobu ever again.
I dunno man, Araragi was about to get himself killed right then and there if she hadn't set the plan up as she did.
Like her or not, she fulfilled the bro pact she made with Araragi in Nise and literally toured the world to help her bro.
>By turning Shinobu into a god he would have given up on the chance to see Shinobu ever again.
This doesn't take into account that Araragi himself said it was purely selfish. Hachikuji became a god and he can see her all the time(but he avoids it for no reason, the bum). He could have remained friends with Shinobu if she became a god.
He refused to make Shinobu a god because he wanted to be close to her and keep the bond with her, that's it.
>He could have remained friends with Shinobu if she became a god.
No, he would not have been able to, that's the whole point. If he turned Shinobu into a god, then Araragi would have become human again. Making it impossible for him to interact with Shinobu ever again.
>He refused to make Shinobu a god because he wanted to be close to her and keep the bond with her, that's it.
That's litteraly what I said.
>Araragi would have become human again. Making it impossible for him to interact with Shinobu ever again.
No wait, I think I am making a mistake here. Kaiki was able to interact with Nadeko.
It feels like the whole series is just a setup for Shinobu and Araragi trying to figure themselves our of the mess they're in. I don't see a problem here. They both know they are immortal, they know they love each other since Kizu, and they'll have their time in the future and it's been established numerous times that Araragi will always choose his vampire waifu over everyone else, including himself. And she doesn't mind waiting for him. So let him have fun with his human waifu for human laifu, I guess.
>He refused to make Shinobu a god because he wanted to be close to her
This was the again the perfect opportunity to have that ''happy ending'' and Araragi refused it again, because he did not want to part from her. And yet he continues deluding himself into believing that he is not happy.
Araragi is a huge tsundere.
THOSE FUCKING CAT UDDERS
I CANT WAIT FOR BLURAY
I want Vertical to release Owari so I can have Ougi on the cover.
You mean the first not anime/alternate colored vofan math.
She can be in the second volume.
>Catch up with series after like a month of watching over beers in my free time
>realize I can't really remember much of what happened since the end of Nise beyond a few plot points that involve cute girls
>she doesn't mind waiting for him
>So let him have fun with his human waifu for human laifu, I guess.
The first thing Araragi wanted from her was to turn him back into a human. She might pretend to be doing it on a whim, but I don't doubt she seriously thought about what it means to be human and decided that things like dating and starting a family are an important part of that and is specifically doing her best to not take them away from him. It probably does hurt too, but it's nothing compared to the abject misery she lived in every day before she met Araragi, so she bears it.
>He rejected Hanekawa because he already had this twisted ideology from Neko Black in his head that he couldn't answer her feelings, and even still to this day in Musubi despite seeing all sides to her and she seeing all sides to him, still thinks of himself as lesser in her presence. The relationship between him and Cat is strange, even by Nisio standards.
>Gahara will bend until she breaks for Araragi, which is quite unfair for her, let's be honest.
Unless Nisio somehow manages to write an amicable breakup, she'll be the only one losing, unless Araragi feels so bad he can't get into a relationship with Shinobu or Crab goes lesbian for Cat, which would just be rebound.
He wrote Crab as the girlfriend before he thought anything through, and now is yanking our chain while trying to figure a way to solve it.
"Best" case scenario Araragi lives his human lifespan with Crab and then his supernatural one with Shinobu.
>>Gahara will bend until she breaks for Araragi, which is quite unfair for her, let's be honest.
i dont know for a bitch that told araragi he would let him for some one better i think is pretty fair
Nisio trapped himself in a really tense situation. Saying that one girl will have him until he dies so the other can have him afterward is pretty bad unless Crab just folds entirely, gives up and lives the rest of her life knowing she is the side chick even if she marries him. That would be something so shitty Araragi could never talk his way out of it. Hanekawa would sock him if he even suggested hurting Crab like that. If Cat and Crab did end up together, I have a feeling Cat and Araragi would butt heads like crazy, and it would get pretty bad.
Nisio could time skip it all to after Hitagi dies, and avoid the matter entirely, only showing the results, but the results wouldn't be pretty either. I mean, if he has kids he will outlive them, he has to explain to them that "Aunty" Shinobu and him are together now, and all that shit.
The only way he can really not wade through the shit that is coming is to put the lid on the trashcan for as long as possible, but it won't stop stinkin'.
>Crab just folds entirely, gives up and lives the rest of her life knowing she is the side chick even if she marries him.
I think she kind of knows it, since he always puts Shinobu above everyone else and Shinobu does the same. The relationship he has with her is closer than family or love in usual human sense. Hitagi knows that if she tries to separate them then Araragi will tell her to fuck off, so she needs to bear it, that is if she HAS any troubles with their relationship. But it seems that she understands.
Jumping back on your ex' dick once he returns is rude and you shouldn't do that? You should hold on to your gf? Don't use fucking jump attacks because you can't change the direction mid-flight? Katanas are underpowered in d20?
that's a shame. after reading the thread though i think i'm going to hold off on the LN. I was hoping the bat, crab, ragi triangle would have been somewhat resolved but it seems thats not the case
>But it seems that she understands.
That is incredibly depressing. He really should just let Crab find someone else and call this marriage business off if it's this disingenuous.
The new Hanekawa totally would. Did you not read the snark going back and forth between her and Oshino in Tsubasa Sleeping? Or the commentary she has with Ougi in Hitagi End? That girl will Wayne Brady a bitch now.
There wasn't a lesson, but there was a point: Shinobu entered into her relationship with Araragi without thought, and got pushed into the current for of it unwillingly. She was given an attractive alternative and seriously considered it and turned it down in favor of Araragi which shows that she's not trapped or just going with the flow, but seriously cares about him.
>Is college Araragi the main character?
It's a bigger timeskip than that, 5 years. Adult, ploice officer Araragi is the main character. He failed college and went to police school instead.
Eh not really. Hyped for the LN as Deathtopia confronts Arararararagi I think and meets Shinobu again.
>seeing that Kiss-shot cuddling while Araragi gets info by Gaen and then personally rekt by dialogue by Ougi
>Kiss-Shot strangling a completely calm Gaen in the background would make for some awesome artwork.
That honestly has to be the best part of all this. You have someone facing down the single strongest oddity in existence, there is nothing holding her back mentally, physically or emotionally and yet even at full power, in the one situation in 500 years where there is reason to kill someone and yet Gaen just doesn't die.
Kiss-shot has been played so hard by a normal human that she has been neutered and any action against Gaen would be detrimental towards Araragi.
People are just going to be happy Gaen is getting choked the fuck out but that is honestly going to be Gaen's best scene just based on context alone.
>does what Kiss-Shot wants under threat of death
>spends tons of time and resources bending her plans around Kiss-Shot
Oh yeah. She played them super hard.
>Araragi ends up by accident coming with a new solution by kidnapping Ghost from hell that surprises Gaen
I love this series.
"What of the one who named the legendary oddity(ies) Araragi Koyomi confronts?" and "Do not overlook the blade-point, which has endured a long age of submission and gleams."
Gonna be a fun one even though I am sweating in the assumption that Nisio will make something go wrong for someone.
>In any other situation Kiss-shot would have had free reign on what she wanted to do.
>Kiss-shot's only choices are "Kill Gaen and lose Araragi" or "Keep Gaen alive and get Araragi back"
That's outplayed, anon. You saying Gaen did what Kiss-shot wanted under threat of death somehow implies she wasn't going to bring Araragi back. She got Yumewatari for that exact purpose.
The fact Kiss-shot is in the position in the first place just proves Gaen outskilled the greatest.
You go in for mathematics at Uni and finish up. Why the hell would he agree to join a police force that is legitimate, but actually run by Gaen?
Of course reading about Detective Araragi is pretty amusing.
>Nisio will make something go wrong for someone
Book ends with Araragi marrying both Shinobu and a pregnant Hitagi but the last line will be about
Sodachi's house burning to the ground in a freak accident and her drunk father returning to beat her shit yet again
Oh yeah, Gaen gave Kiss-Shot the middle finger and survived. Bravo. Meanwhile she spent 6 months, millions of yen, and tons of manpower to deal with the fallout from trying to push Kiss-Shot around before giving up and adjusting her plans. I'm pretty sure that even Yotsugi got more kicks in and had to sacrifice less to do it.
Three novels later Araragi mentions that Sodachi actually went through with killing herself and for some reason she's now a lich living in his basement. The book ends with her drunk father beating up her phylactery
The only reason she did not kill Gean was because of Araragi. Gean told Shinobu that she would bring him Araragi back to life and Shinobu straight up made it clear that if Gean failed, she would die.
Not sure how strong you think Kiss-shot is. I feel you're vastly underestimating Kiss-shot if somehow screwing her over at her peak isn't somehow the tightest shit in the world that Kaiki, Yozuru and Oshino couldn't do together when she was weakened.
>screwing her over
She had to not murder Gaen long enough for her to do what she was planning anyways. Gaen got absolutely zero gain from it other than not dying while executing her plan, which benefitted Kiss-Shot anyways.
Basically this. Kanbaru did it first too. And she actually got Kiss-Shot to change her mind about something, not just sit tight for a minute.
I doubt a five year old would be able to kill a man, revive a man and come out effectively so much further on top that they'd finally have the means to combat an oddity which could temporarily remove the strongest human in the world.
So wait, you think not dying to the strongest oddity in the world when you've done the one thing that would ostensibly secure your death and possibly create another zombie apocalypse isn't somehow the tightest shit?
We know what happens when you kill Araragi, we've seen it.
If Gaen was capable of pulling enough strings to take credit for that shit, then there would never have been an apocalypse in Route X. All she did was hope that Kiss-Shot would be emotionally stable enough to not murder her while she was in the middle of curing Araragi's vampirism and not freak out.
Route X is an unfair example to use though. At that point she's probably not aware some random sawarineko off-shoot is going to tear some random high schooler's ass off.
Oshino being the slack-ass that he is needs to get a fucking phone and use it.
If her information network is that fallible, then she wasn't controlling enough variables to take responsibility for Shinobu's personal growth or her relationship with Araragi. Because that's what was responsible for the world not being destroyed. Kiss-Shot of May would have splattered Gaen all over the shrine.
Oshino was the one guiding Araragi and Shinobu's relationship until it became relatively stable, and he was also the one who set up Tadatsuru to allow Araragi to be revived in the first place. Gaen was just in the right place at the right time to take advantage of his insurance policy after fucking things up by trying to force Kiss-Shot to become a goddess instead of using Hachikuji in the first place.
>So wait, you think not dying to the strongest oddity in the world when you've done the one thing that would ostensibly secure your death and possibly create another zombie apocalypse isn't somehow the tightest shit?
Anon, don't speedread. Gean herself said that something like Route X will never happen since Shinobu saw it happen. There were a lot of other circumstances around that whole Route which caused it to desend into a complete mess.
Basically what Gean did was kill Araragi quickly, tell the revived Shinobu/Kiss-Shot that she would bring him back to life and that killing her would be a bad idea in that situation. So Shinobu told her, "Ok, but if you fail, you're dying''
There are fan translations for some of them.
People have subbed bits and pieces since. You can find translations for the first two episodes of Nise, as well as the first episode of Koi and Gahara bullying Sodachi for three episodes in Owari.
If you like the characters at all then they're better, the anime cuts stuff out left and right. If you're one of those guys who are just in it for Shaft's usual style then obviously it won't interest you at all.
That's what I thought when I woke up.
Do people honestly give a fuck about Ougi's gender?
Only people who want to shitpost.
I have no idea where these new Ougifags are coming from, when most of the time in threads it's just me and maybe 1-2 other people who are dedicated enough to Ougi to post her.
She's the third best in my ranking, which means she's top tier.
Lucky there is an entire arc to spell it out for people like you.
>the show compared to the anime
Meant to say how shit is the show compared to the LN. Now is the time to sleep.
The show is pretty much the same thing as the novels, some arcs got really bad cuts but other than that it's as good an adaptation as it gets.
Why not? I double dare you to, actually.
Read the novels instead if you haven't. They will give you a new perspective.
Well Hanekawa did it first in Kizu really, she talked down full Kiss-Shot and ended her suicide by cop routine even when threatened by those super eye lasers Kiss-Shot has.
I mean, I think I know why Gaen is always such a wise ass about Hanekawa, she does all this cool shit, but none of the exorcists ever teach her anything.
A regular human girl subjugated two oddities she CREATED from nothing inside herself with no ill effects, managed to rangle Meme back and foil all of Ougi's plans without violence, saved a town and had several other oddity cases without any supernatural instruction whatsoever. No exorcist in the story has ever attempted to or desired to teach her, even Nadeko gets more cooperation, training and an actual job working oddity related stuff in her arcs.
I gotta ask, are all the exorcists (except maybe Kaiki and Drama-kun) naturally just butthurt an amateur is this gifted? Oshino seems that way at least, Gaen makes a lot of passive aggressive remarks about her too. You'd think she would get formal training, if only to put a leash on her.
LN's been going since 2005 and anime since 2009. Hell /a/ is the place for LN talk as well and one of the places if you want raw info and summaries of future LN's not adapted. Plus enough viewers that give a shit beyond waifu crap usually. At times. Join the fun of Nisio and his curveballs at times.
Is there a certain order to read/watch monogatari?
The order it came out in.
>Owarimonogatari part 1
>the three kizu films
take this so that you wont forget and ask again
Watch Kizu after Bake (it should've been released back then anyway, blame Aniplex) and then continue in release order. Guess you can watch Hanamonogatari and Koyomimonogatari by the LN order too but they're removed enough from the main plot that watching them in release order works fine too.
I use this for rewatches and I think it balances a lot of the advantages of different orders people throw. Also splits the show up into nice little segments which tend to be pretty thematically and chronologically coherent.
