I haven't read the LN's so I can't compare, but the anime's S2 felt way too rushed. It just kept adding more and more characters and unlike the first season's cast you never really get to know them.

Is it really? I'm genuinely curious. Everywhere I've looked previously the opinions have been negative. It's never a good sign when the ratings of sequels take a deep dive compared to the original work since it's mostly the fans watching them.
