It stems back to the original manga which was mostly all guys. A fair number of the old anime episodes with women were also anime original stories since there wasn't much manga to work with. But you have a fairly lopsided gender ratio in any medium for the series, with the manga being the most extreme.

That cannot be a basis of argument without empirical evidence. You can't just say "well, the terrorist did attack the theater and killed 20 people, but hey, a meteor could have struck the theater and killed even more!" to underplay the terrorists. That's just fucking stupid.

If your question is are they still being manufactured, no. Nowhere in the world as far as I know. Japan was like the last ones to still be making them well into the 90s, because the word processing software on the PC were so terrible to handle Japanese, these standalone machines were far better equipped for it for a long time.

They're basically an electronic type writer/printer with built-in primitive MS Word like software.

These people have deep flaws in their characters; as such, their actions rooted in their flaws will be detrimental to the person.
Again, let's look at the insomniac. Being sleep-deprived is a dangerous condition. Little to no sleep causes damage to both your mental and physical condition. Falling asleep at the wheel, for example, happens; the chances of this occurring increase as one stays awake. Hell, simple activities can be dangerous when you're as sleep-deprived as this guy was.
My point is that most characters with problems like these people have will catch up to them regardless of whether of Moguro decides to intervene or not. And perhaps, Moguro foresees that these certain individuals that adopts as his clients will come to a fate worse than what he gave them.
This, of course, is all for the sake of discussion.

Moguro specifically IS trying to ruing their lives, he even has a OPPOSITE brother who tries to genuinely help people instead of entraping them. The bother is the antithesis to Fukuzo.
