Drifters is the best action anime from the past four seasons

I never watched hell sing (sue me bitch) so idk if it had them but the comedic scenes felt out of place as fuck. The show would hbe pretty serious and then have 3 minutes of gags randomly. Weird to me

Hellsing Ultimate does have comedic scenes, but they're done a lot better than they were in Drifters. Drifters is a solid 6/10. I can't really think of any action shows that would be better; definitely not attack on trains.

It isn't. Its a lot better than OPM (this is coming from someone who liked OPM too). It's more of a coming of age story than anything. Still really comedic and with fantastic animation.

Less action than opm, more character focused/development. Its was funny as hell seeing all the action fags get mad at the anime's ending when Mob DIDN'T have some big battle with the boss. Its a shame the anime had to end where it did. The following arcs are where mob starts to fully grow and start to think for himself instead of blindly following others.

And I haven't seen Part 3 yet, but I can't imagine they fucked up Koyomi vs Kiss-Shot.

Well, it is very similar, honestly. Mob is pretty much Saitama except instead of overwhelming physical powers he has overwhelming psychic powers. Main difference is he's much younger, so where Saitama has already accomplished his goal and declined into apathy as a result, Mob is still figuring his out. He's still just as stupid and naive (and nearly as apathetic) as Saitama is though.

It's very similar to OPM in a lot of ways. Such as where OPM ostensibly subverts a lot of shounen tropes but then at the same time plays them perfectly straight, in a way kind of hypocritically being the very thing is pokes fun at. Mob does the same. It subverts a lot of shounen tropes, even goes out of its way to outright accuse the people who like them of being cowardly (man)children, while at the same time playing them completely straight just in a roundabout way. Like, it'll go from badass shounen-style fight, to subversion that mocks you for enjoying said fight, then straight into as completely unironic badass shounen fight - but with a twist!

That whole dissonance seems to be a major theme of the show though, to the point where I have to assume it's intentional. Like how half the characters will be completely unimpressed with Mob's psychic powers, as if he just revealed he was a pro gamer or something. His parents even just grumble about it and how quirky it is. Then the other half will be completely blown the fuck into orbit by it to the point where their entire view of the world alters. Some even consider him a god. His brother's ego is crushed just by proximity to someone so undeniably superior to himself. But then the girl he's interested in prefers the athletic guy instead, even though Mob's powers make him a million times superior to the athletic guy in every way.

It comes off to me as really strange and I'm not sure what point he's trying to make with it. If he even is trying to make a point.
