>Maid Dragon is /a/'s winter AOTS
What went so right?
>Maid Dragon is /a/'s winter AOTS
That is correct.
No, mine is Gabriel Dropout or ACCA, Kobayashi-san is a solid third place though.
All sizes of tits below "impractically large" are wonderful.
LWA can't be Spring AOTS because it began airing in Winter. This is how /a/ has always traditionally done things. Similarly, Shirobako is AOTY 2014 despite its second cour airing in Winter 2015.
Now hold on, I agree with this anon.
But these cowtits are the exception. Holy shit, diamonds nearly on demand.
Well its true if we don't count sequels like Gintama and Konosuba.
>Yuyushiki was 4 years ago
I still remember all those crazy theories about Yui being a loner who talked with puppets.
Today I will remind them
Why is Tapris so shit? She ruined the whole episode.
Flip Flappers started out strong but was a complete trainwreck in the end. Everything from the plot to the previously high animation quality took a massive nosedive in the end. Rushed anime was rushed.
Yuribait + shitposting material + LEWDNESS + KyoAni's production value + outstanding color palette
Everything else I watched in winter was ok though
See: those faggots that derail every K-on thread
FF kind of went completely up its own ass after episode 8 or 9 so I understand why people forgot about it so quickly but it deserves AOTS status for episodes 3 and 6 alone.
Only episodic/SoL anime can get away with completely falling to shit at the end. The ending is by far the most important content of any non-episodic anime. A non-episodic anime cannot be AOTS/AOTY if its ending fills its own pants like FF's did.
>Caring about 'muh plot' this much
Only plebs care about the progression of point A to point B
FF had brilliant characters, direction and themes up until a certain point and I think that's noteworthy
Not really. Natsume's directing is way too lively and fun for the show to work, so it just became a really jarring juxtaposition of themes. Look at house of five leaves to see how to adapt this authors works into anime beautifully.
I love the characters and continue to post in the threads but I know the limits of this show and I know this is not for everyone.
I know you're gonna call me /v/ or something, but it feels like the ones making these images really want to make it blatantly clear that their top priority is moe, and anything that deviates too far is automatically Reddit.
Euphonium was good, Maid Dragon's alright (though even it tends to get a lot of the reddit-shit for some reason) because of some exceptional characters, I personally liked GJ-Bu, not sure why except for Kirara being a miracle of the universe. But fucking nothing happens in things like Kin-iro Mosaic and Yuru Yuri, at least relatively, the former especially not doing anything particularly new or interesting. I'm not outright saying they're bad, my tastes are different from yours, but was there seriously nothing better out at the same time? At the very least I'll admit they have a lesser chance of crashing and burning at the end like Flip Flappers, or LWA is in danger of doing, though recent episodes have been promising in my opinion.
I'm a newfag ala 2013, but bear with me at least. I'd like to know, honestly, if there's some motive to these relatively samey results. And I understand if there is. Trying to alienate crossboarders? That makes sense to me, most of the other mainstream boards are pretty abhorrent. I just want to know if there is something like that, or if I'm just off my rocker.
Admittedly, I'd probably comprehend this a lot better if I was around longer, and most probably do, so I understand if I don't deserve to be spoonfed. Just know I'm not trying to antagonize here, I'm just very curious about this thing I haven't figured out yet.
I'm pretty sure that everyone decided that it was Kemono Friends a while ago m80. Maid Dragon was neat, but in the end it was repetitive and made for fan service.
>I'm a newfag ala 2013
By now one would think you would have noticed that the catalog is always well over half pictures of "moe" stylized girls, and you'd think, having noticed this, that you wouldn't have to fucking ask the question you just asked, because it's pretty obvious that four years of lurking was not enough.
Then you're blind or plain retarded, because right after episode 2, we had no more of "people sitting in a café explaining a plot to me for half the runtime of every episode". Episode 3,4 and 5 were the ones with most shit happening, if you think that is boring then just stick to battle shounen.
everything i hate about animes, maid dragon got in charge of making it enjoyable. that what went so right. it didnt make you feel guilty about something that is supposed to be at msot a guilty pleasure
This. Kobayashi herself helped a lot, sure she seemed boring at times but I never considered her cliche, she has her own unique interests and takes on things. And I fucking love how much self-respect she has, whether in the face of an abusive boss or a dragon that could incinerate her in a moment.
You talk about ACCA being boring and that people talk too much, but yet you watch Rakugo that is literally nothing but talking, crying and drama. Sasuga fujoshit, you're truly retarded. It's nice that you got BTFO with the ending.
She deals with magic and she noticed someone was performing a summoning. Shouta thought she was a succubus. She asked him if he ever wanted anything, he refused. Eventually it just led her to staying with him at his place. She was never a succubus; if anything, she just followed his lead.
> All shows with attractive men are fujoshit, kek.
Ending was not even bad. And yea it was nothing but talking but the talking was absolutely brilliantly written. And the voiceacting was stellar. With very fitting and creative directing. Unlike ACCA where the plot was convoluted at best and no scenes had any energy in them.
I agree. Fafnir is a paragon of friendship, a pillar of strength, and easily the best at videogames in the entire city of Tokyo, if not the entire world. His curse books are also a great read.
Speaking as someone actually from /v/ and who only comes here for the Jojo and One Piece threads because shonen manga's the only japanese thing I give a shit about besides vidya, but occasionally get pulled into marathoning some moeblog crap like Potemayo or this Sono Chi No Dragon Maid thing...
Stop worrying about other people's tastes or appealing to the zeitgeist.
If Rakugo is not fujoshit, then how am i fujoshit for liking it?
ACCA seemed promising for like 10 minutes, then they had a scene where a superior officer started explaining basic shit to the MC that he clearly already knew just for exposition. This terrible writing style carried through the show all the way to episode 6 where i finally dropped it. Only reason i kept up that long is for my love of Shingo Natsume but holy shit his style just did not fit this story that really needed a similer style as House of Five leaves got in it's adaptation.
I'm sure the ACCA sourcematerial is better since the story had potential to be interesting, but the adaptor just could not capture it in any interesting way.
Other "slow" shows with actual good writing that one could watch instead include:
Monster, Planetes, Kino no Tabi, Welcome to the NHK or Hourou Musuko
>If Rakugo is not fujoshit, then how am i fujoshit for liking it?
Because the majority of people that watched that show were fujoshit, you're really butthurt, calm yourself landwhale.
Yeah, I was right.
They're bait images you fucktard. One autist with photoshop and literally nothing else going on in his life has made it his mission to make these images, slap as many words like "official" and all other related variants over it and himself and spam it everywhere to collect (you)s
No, thank you for not tarnishing this series with your lack of taste.
>anything other than complete shit
I like to use yuru yuri as my pleb filter to see whether someone is actually capable of properly appreciating sol cute girl show, or is just a shit eating braindead mongoloid who eats up any filth just because it has underage girls in
gochiuusa gave it away too.
I'm thinking alice to zoruko so far, but this seasons been pretty weak in general.
I don't remember what episode it was but there were a couple that were original and I didn't really care for it much. When it went back to the source material it was a lot better.
>Anime of the last Season
>Anime of the current Season
Really wobbles wobbles my Bukiko's bukikos.
It's not controversial at all, anyone on /a/ knows that Eromanga is just another generic Fushimi haremshit, MALfags are the ones who're upset with this for god knows what reason.
>It's very high up in the love/hate board right along with KLK and TTGL.
No, it's not.
>unironically watching anime
I watch enough to compare and shitpost
>wait five minutes
>still no (You)
>STILL no (You)
I don't know why there are so many bait threads about this dumb harem, but the few I've bothered to check had more posts laughing about the complainers than anything else, so I assume that the idiots crying about Eromanga are just a very loud minority.
>/jp/ has an agenda to insert their words into /a/ jargon and IRC keeps trolling with tumblr-like behaviour.
I've seen the word JC before Eromanga, if you don't usually lurk in loli threads you may have missed it, but it was fairly common word used there.
Given that it was anime-original, it's not proper to try and do anything drastic with the characters' established personalities or backstories (what little there were). Given that borderline, I think the episode acted very well within it along with another cute scene at the end.
I really don't quite understand why Maidragon gets so much flak. I think it's just an effect of a degenerate mangaka with a fetish-driven manga suddenly getting an adaption by an accomplished anime studio. This isn't some plug for Kyoani, it's just that Cool really can't draw for shit, and so the adapting studio just took things into their own hands for the most part. Nobody saw it coming, and so some of the more salient gimmicks speared right out into the open: Kanna and Lucoa in particular. I still don't know why it maybe drives some sort of aggressive stance toward the anime, but I think that's what happened.
I kept watching it because Tohru is love, though, so it's not like we're in it for some plot or theme. Same for any of the other recent or current meme shows: Gabu, Kemono--Demi-chan was actually nice, though.
And what is relevant to this shitty "discussion" then huh?
>This is /a/s officially agreed upon AOTS
>That show sucked
>Fuck off reddit
>No you fuck off /v/
>Fuck off /pol/
>Fuck off tumblr
>Fuck off facebook
Where does this get anyone besides closer to death.
I think people are just grappling with "Why?" but in ways that aren't necessarily productive. Instead of debating Maidragon's merits and faults based on its composition compared with other shows (and let's not necessarily limit ourselves to just shows from this past season either), everyone just slings shit around like monkeys. But that's mostly just /a/ for you when it comes to contemporary SoL.
This is just theoretically speaking, but if Tohru punched you while in her normal human form, It'd pretty much obliterate you and the surrounding area, right?
Like, in maid form, she can crush cars like they're fucking tin cans, right?
I wonder what her muscle structure looks like, in human form. Must look like a crazy matrix of muscles, compressed down.
4chans mods and janitors have become increasingly cancerous. They warn/ban you over ANYTHING.
People are shitposting harder now than ever before since normies started invading. The staff is trying hard to wipe the "problem" clean and make 4chan a safespace, so you're gonna see lots of shitposting just to spite them. Even if it's completely off topic.
The tautest and most sinewy chorogon. It's gets a little more bizarre when we take into account that her "human clothing" is still just her scales. I know that flesh isn't muscular structure, but even so, there has to be a lot going on in there.
Seeing transformations like that makes me wonder whether or not the mangaka, ergo; the production team - visualize things down to the muscular level.
It's nitpicking, but I'd like to see a diagram or some kind of picture of her muscular structure when she's in human form.
Like, in example, Kagura from Gintama, she's super fucking strong, but she looks "human". That's my problem. The common problem in writing / creating characters without needing to add in a visual aid to go along with the strength that the author's unable to explain through visuals alone.
Tohrus muscle structure must be insane. Whenever I see insanely strong characters, I just picture their muscles as insanely elastic metal, I'm fucking mental I swear to god.
