Are you guys just ignoring that Handshakers and Kemono Friends are on there? It's a fucking joke picture.

What the fuck is your use of "Arthouse Anime" even supposed to mean, faggot?
Anime for which you enjoyed the art?
Because all of those, save for maybe Kemono Friends, were made by large, established studios and production companies. Several are even adaptations. There isn't a single "arthouse anime" (if that can even be a term used unironically,) among them.
I mean don't get me wrong, I liked almost everything on your list. I couldn't stick with Kuzu no Honkai, haven't seen Violet Evergarden yet (but am looking forward to it,) and haven't tried Kabukibu though I've been meaning to. Everything else I enjoyed. None of them are "Arthouse" though.

This is top tier bait. You should be proud.

Kemono friends is probably the most arthouse thing on there.
>>157432015
If it aired on TV
Then it's not arthouse

KF is automatically disqualified by its meme status.
>>157432436
That has nothing to do with it being arthouse
>>157432390
It's not even bait at this point.

>An art film is typically a serious, INDEPENDENT FILM aimed at a niche market rather than a mass market audience. An art film is "intended to be a serious artistic work, often experimental and not designed for mass appeal"; they are "made primarily for aesthetic reasons rather than commercial profit", and they contain "unconventional or highly symbolic content".
But really I don't see the sense of using it in anime. In a sense all anime is niche compared to any live-action film or series. They do often have artistic quality because the medium isn't as restrictive as live-action film. But I think the word avant garde would be better here. It can refer to any form of art and its use is less specific.
