Seriously I didn't like how people who used to shit on him try to come back and just do like nothing happened. If I were in his place I would have probably severed all ties and ignored any attempts some could have had, and focused on deaf girl.

On the other hand, forgiving and letting go of the past to embrace the present is quite a hard and mature thing to do. People do change, and blaming them years and years after is stupid.

She didn't "tell the truth" as she clearly put it in a way that'd hide what was really going on. Also she only did that so she could break Shouya (and maybe everyone else) which is an objectively horrible thing to do. The characters still accepting her after that without even saying anything is dumb. She's arguably the cause of most bad things that happened after just because of that.

I say this pretty much everytime it's brought up, but my problem with Kawai was that I don't think she came across the way she was supposed to.
Ueno, by contrast always seemed to be what the author wanted her to be, someone who was a bit of an asshole but tried to change for the better.

The way Kawai acted, I thought it was a deliberate part of her character that she's insincere and sort of manipulative, but captions and later parts of the story made it seem like she's meant to be sincere and honest or whatnot

Kawai didnt learn a goddamn thing in the end.
She is the kind of cunt who keeps telling herself its not her fault but others until she starts believing it.
I know a couple of real life examples of this and the delusion of these people is sickening.
