Why don't they cheat as often anymore? That was half the fun of DM's duels and it was always really neat to see instances like Roger using the world's solid vision rules to cheat vs Reiji in ARC-V.

Yushou, as much as a disappointment he turned out to be, gave me one of my favorite duels in arc-v. His style of entertainment duel was not only really fun to watch, but also showed a great amount of skill.

That's because it was actual entertainment, a show from start to finish. His entire strategy relied on sleight of hand and making moves based off the opponent's reaction as a person rather than the cards they played. It's all incredibly reminiscent of stage magicians and their magic shows. Also it helped that he treated his opponent as an assistant to the show as opposed to someone ripe for brainwashing.

Just speaking about visuals, Vrains just doesn't look good (even ignoring the minimum animation) in its overall aesthetic and style. Not so great animaton can be made up with things like interesting backgrounds, creative storyboarding, a cool character design style and colors, or pushing a certain aspect of the show's look to an extreme. I'm happy whenever we do get real cards from the tcg/ocg in the anime these days. Back in GX they used them a lot, but newer shows tend to use more made up cards. I loved the LDS trio, was awesome seeing them use duel terminal cards along with new stuff.
