It does a cast switch midway which isn't entirely for the better. Spark's alright, but I honestly don't remember who the fuck were the others. There was some half elf? And the plot kinda just rehashes the OVA's plot. Instead of Deed, that new priestess girl is the sacrifice for whatever plot. New MC rescues her.

Ashram is better developed and turns out kinda okay instead of just having a hateboner for Parn being his thing.

In some ways it develops stuff more and in other ways it fucks around more. As far as MORE LODOSS goes, it's alright.

Forgot about Danmachi; not even Hestia was sufficient to get me through the first series, I doubt I'd fair much better with the second. And anyway, that's got JRPG mechanics written all over it. Again, its an aesthetic. It's all about epic journeys, sweeping romance, evocative landscapes, and mighty deeds in the face of impossible odds. Bahamut has a lot of those elements (esp. if you count the first series), but the feel of the thing is off - too numetal. Granblue would probably fits the bill; to bad its a lazy mobage promotion vehicle. Berserk is a bit dark to be "high" fantasy, but it in the same vein (again, though with the quality issue).

Lodoss is a bad example, since the outcomes of many if not all situations basically result as a matter of dice rolls and in the anime since the game elements aren't transported over, it's completely ignored and looks retarded. For example, Goblin Slayer at least shows the autistic side of GS so you can understand how he's so effective against goblins, but with Lodoss Wars, it isn't even at the level of LOGH where a narrator gives a paragraph speech, people just fail for no reason and pull off miracles for no reason.

Slayers is a better example if little to no game elements being directly ported over but still has good explanations and has it's own rule set in the world.
