What is exactly funny about this show?

I got up to the episode with mechazawa, where they basically spent the entire episode making jokes about him being a robot and nobody noticing?

None of them were funny, the comedy is derivative, this was one of the blandest shows I've ever watched.

The anime is way too fast paced for the comedy to really kick in as hard as it can.
I tried watching the anime after reading the manga and I was barely able to keep up with what was happening. The jokes that cracked up in the manga didn't hit in the anime at all.
