what went wrong?
Nothing. It's better than the spin-off.
Spooky girl and yandere ojou-san were 10/10. Best characters of the show.
>complete different cast
Literally what's the fucking point?

Because the original was fully adapted?
Nothing, it's just a different take on the formula.
Inu-gumi Working was comedy with romance, whereas Neko-gumi Working was romantic comedy.
Cast interaction was better in Inu-gumi, but romance was better in Neko-gumi.
Inu-gumi had Poplar to make conflicts end nicely, whereas things could get crazy in Neko-gumi due to a lack of a Poplar-like figure, though she does go work there for a week, later on, though.

No S2 is what went wrong.
>>157270545
S2 only became a possibility in April, with the release of volume 6, though.
Hopefully, we'll get an announcement next year - though, they would be better off animating Re:Order first, since it gets referenced in later volumes of Web Working.
I didn't care enough about the characters before they started to dive into the romance. Romantic relationships should enhance characters, not consume them

Nothing, but the spin-off had some better designs.
The first 6 episodes I sorta dragged myself along because I found the cast kinda unlikeable or some of the setups to be patently sadistic but I gotta say I was really hooked at the end, first out of morbid curiosity but then for wanting to see some hand-holding.

This. They took their problems and worked through them.Only think I missed was the Takanashi sisters
>>157268222
Too much Keit-ai.
>>157268222
>Wrong
Fuck you it was fantastic. It managed to temporarily fill the hole left in my heart after Lord of the Takanashi aired.

It was the author's first rendition of Working! and it clearly shows. It wasn't good. It had a few funny gags here and there, but this original version of Working! has absolutely nothing on the one that came after.
Don't even get me started on these fucks. MC was pretty great but the dense female archetype is one of the most boring things I've ever had to sit through. Straight up, ZERO FUCKING CHEMISTRY with these two.
>>157268222
Chocolate bullshit every episode.
>>157268222
Absolutely nothing.
