The SFX sounded really bad during the fight when people weren't just standing around talking. Excessive CLANG, BZZZSHT, and other shit like that. I mean if it sounds like you're smashing pots together when you're just setting your lance to the "attack" position, there is something wrong. At least the horse made generic "clop clop" sounds when it was moving instead of the VROOOM in ep, 2.

I was initially under the impression that the focus would shift over each character, but it seems like every character is getting their development in parallel with some having more focus.

I think they are handling the characters clumsily. Like Yuuya disappearing for over 3 episodes with no updates at all or the way they just have Meteora infodump her "development" in one scene. For the man heroine Selesia is pretty weak and irrelevant. And then there's Souta who just appears in the background sometimes, or Rui who got his intro interrupted with infodumps. Mamika went crazy just a few minutes after she appeared before you even have any reason to care about her plight. In my opinion Shark teeth's was the best of the bunch while the old guy got it the worse. He got just about 1 minute in the show total. They are really slow at making people get attached to people which could be why the show hasn't taken off well.

If you think about Meteora's role in her own world, isn't basically an info dump NPC? I'd say she is staying true to herself.

Selestia seems like one of those protagonist archetypes that has to grow into them self to become stronger.

Mamika is a kid having an existential crisis and trying to cope with her entire reality being altered.

I know what they are trying with Mamika is but I don't think they handled it well. They introduce her with this attempt at making her cute and then it quickly morphed into a battle that was kind of nonsensical and then she breaks. It's all a bit too fast.
