Given that he's designed more as a mafia boss than a pirate it stood to reason in my mind that he'd be a bit more capable of planning his moves out ahead of time and thus work well with one of the other supernovas to form some kind of alliance. I was quite surprised to see him working for Big Mom, but then we learned of his plans and it all fell into place.

His powers sort of reinforced that idea as he'd obviously have to be a bit more reliant on his crew to deal with opponents, as opposed to the likes of Luffy or Kid who can influence fights more independently of their crew. Doubly so for more powerful opponents who can just ignore bombs and bullets. His powers are amazing for dealing with fodder, less so than more powerful opponents.

If anything, Wano will make it worse for Sanji because Wano already has a reputation for having strong swordsmen AND for being so strong that they don't careabout Marines. And Zoro has vowed to never lose a battle (against other swordsmen).

I've always hated one piece flashbacks, even back when I was reading in bulk, but I'm kinda looking forward to this.
