I like this flatie
>>157044342
Personally I really liked it way more than NGE but I would have preferred if Anemone and Dominic had more screen time, I liked them more than the protagonist pair so perhaps We will get that in the second upcoming movie the first one is technically a prequel-sequel

Dropped it at ep. 1 just like SAO and SnK. My shit detector indicates no.
I liked it

So if you haven't seen it. Why are you in this thread?
>>157044342
Why have we had so many E7 threads lately? Is it because of the upcoming movies?
Anyway, it's my favorite anime, it's pretty good.

Yes. But AO is horrible.

>poor man's rahxephon
Fucking loved that show, picked up.

>it because of the upcoming movies?
Only the parts without Renton and metaphysics.
7/10
It's okay
Renton's mental age is below his physical age
The kids are fucking annoying
It should have been about Anemone

>It should have been about Anemone
Holy shit this
At least more of her.

It's up there on my favorites list. Top ten at least. If an anime can make me cry tears of whatever, be they joy, sadness or triumph, I'm inclined to like it. This one moved me to tears on quite a few occasions. I actually just rewatched it recently and it still brought out the same old feels.
Just don't watch AO, it cheapens the entire experience.

Renton was fine, it's Holland who needed to grow the fuck up.
>>157044342
The best thing produced by Sunrise that doesn't have "Gundam" in the title.

It was a solid "Fine" (6) for me. It's worth your time if you like anime in general and the series never feels like it's dragging ass. It has a really polished first ~10 episodes where everything fits very tightly, there is little/no fat AND it never feels like filler. The rest of the series avoids filler and while some parts aren't as tightly packed and polished it doesn't really get too disjointed in plot and character motivations. The story however wasn't some mind blowing revelation or experience that pushed the medium forward and acts mostly as a foil for decent characterization and interaction execution. Holland Novak is the weakest link and actually is one of the best characterized villains in anime. The show fails with him because he is never framed as a villain or an asshole and his crew and the show enables his grating behavior. If he were re-purposed as a third act villain that has fallen from grace I would have liked the show a lot more. Last act is a bit anime boiler plate, but once again - the overall story isn't the point. It's very easy to forget the show is 50 episodes long.
I would not recommend the show to someone who just got into Anime, I also would understand and not necessarily disagree with people who dislike the show. I liked it however.

Agree. Renton very much acted his age if not older. Holland acted like a person with narcissistic borderline personality disorder.
Reminder that Dewey was right all along.
