I still can get over how bad they fucked up with the second season, but understandably the first one was difficult to top, kinda like what happened to Digimon.

I remember watching it together with other 2001 anime: Shaman King, Hellsing, Ultimate Muscle, Cyborg 009, Grappler Baki, Beyblade, Bible Black. What a great time to be 12.

2nd season medabot was awful, all new characters were boring and having them become transformers killed it for me. also the show looked too clean, I missed their filters.

Also on beyblade I didn't like the design they went for this second season but at last at the end they made them wear somewhat cool outfit, something more appropriate for a shonen series

It was my favorite of the whole "kid and his __, fighting others" genre.
Like sure, Pokemon had them enslaving animals to fight for them, but Medabots had the kids building walking weapons shooting live ammo at each other.

i really liked how their armor can be bought like those classic toys with the plastic stick on a cardboard. And also how being kids they had to get into some sort of engineering to fix their robots. That anime is what got me into engineering because I also wanted to do that too

This show was the shit, dude. Metabee was like your friendly ghetto nigga (or at least the dub in my country was like that) and Rokusho was your edgy-but-not-so-edgy-that-you-hated mate, the two of them were like that. I remember the godtier gba games too. Also, i loved the soft designs, i always wanted to draw like that.
