The main cast is a bunch of little kids at an orphanage during a war. Their town is overrun by the enemy army and the adults are all raped or killed. Most of the kids escape into the forest. They struggle to survive, and although they manage for a while, things get a lot tougher once winter rolls around and they all begin to starve. The last surviving kids find their way back to civilization, but the war is still going on and their country is occupied. They continue to have nightmares about their experiences for the rest of their lives.

This sounds like suffering for the sake of suffering, without much meaning beyond misery porn.
>>
>tfw wrote a novel
>tfw realized it was isekai
>tfw it would be considered 'suffering wank' isekai
>>
>>156986552
Of course there's meaning. The moral of the story is, overcoming the immediate obstacles you face as an individual won't necessarily solve anything in the grand scheme of things, and the wheel of history just keeps on turning and doesn't notice if it grinds you to a pulp.

Traditional medieval setting, with two warring factions in the same state.
Texts found in ancient ruins indicated the existence of a device, known as "the rift".
The first faction believes that the rift can bring the end and must be destroyed.
The second faction believes instead that the rift can save the world.

Faction 1 operates under the banner of the security force.
Faction 2 hides under the guise of a rebellion, holding control to a large slum area.
The increasing frequency of small earthquakes is making some citizens anxious.

MC is an outgoing, passionate young man who wants to help others as he earns a living.
MC joins faction 1 as a city guard, working to provide safety and maintain justice.
MC meets girl A, a manager responsible for directing patrol duties.
Through eavesdropping on conversations, MC starts to question the true agenda of faction 1.

In one battle with the rebellion, MC gets abducted and sent to the faction 2 camp.
After some persuasion, MC is convinced that faction 2 can save the world, and promptly converts to them.
MC meets boy B, a plain-spoken young man experienced in combat.
Meanwhile, a large earthquake decimates a small town, signs of civil unrest rises.

During another incident, MC catches girl A, who was holding a knife to his throat.
MC thereby discovers that girl A and boy B are siblings.
Years ago, Girl A was caught stealing food, and saved by faction 1 from death.
She was then trained to be an assassin; the manager position was part of the cover.
Boy B was instead found by faction 2, they have been contacting in secret ever since.

cont.
>>
>>156986829
Faction 1 also discovers the relationship between girl A and boy B.
A series of earthquakes and floods occur, many protests, some joins the rebellion.
Faction 1 decides to use girl A as scapegoat, spreading rumours that she has orchestrated all of this.
Soon, the people want girl A's head on a plate.
Girl A is convicted and publicly executed, faction 2 forces stopped MC and boy B from interfering.

Shaken by the death of his sister, boy B leaves the camp alone.
MC questions if the people deserves to be helped, but decides that the world is still worth saving.
Independently, both MC and boy B finds out the location of the rift, and how to use it.
Additionally, boy B also finds the true nature of the rift.

The rift does not destroy or save the world.
According to the many-worlds interpretation, there are an infinite number of worlds of possibilities.
The rift transfers the consciousness of its user to a world of the user's choosing.
Knowing this, boy B travels to where the rift is, hoping that he can stop MC from using it.
This world is already approaching the end.

Boy B and MC arrives at the same time.
MC wants to use the rift to save the world, boy B knows that's not what it is for.
Swords clash, MC is confused about why boy B is fighting him, tells boy B that he can bring girl A back.
Boy B considers telling MC the truth, but decides not to.

MC defeats boy B, leaving him severely wounded.
Activating the device, MC's mind is transported to a world where the rift never existed.
Looking over MC's lifeless body, boy B chooses to stay as the world ends.
In the other world, MC meets up with other girl A and other boy B, now happy and at peace.

Even Texhnolyze managed to make eternal suffering a bit deeper than that. At any rate, you could still use a story to bridge your beginning and ending.

>>156986869
This sounds interesting. The ending you've charted out is nice, certainly bittersweet. I feel that the war elements haven't earned their place yet, though. They're not really the heart of the story; that's the rift and what it does.

I did a pitch for a fantasy version of this a bit ago:

In order to compile a comprehensive compendium of every species of monster known to man, dwarf, and elf etc., the Teratozoological Society has dispatched its researchers to every corner of the globe. Some assignments promise glory, like writing the entry for the Great Wyrm of the North; others offer the thrill of an adventure, like studying the orcish hordes on the frontier; there's even the possibility of relaxing in the tropics getting to know the greater sunlit beach nymphs.

But, as victims of the byzantine intrigues of academia, Carol and Melvin were not assigned any of these. Not even close. Carol and Melvin got the shitty monsters.

Follow the adventures of our perpetually disgruntled Monster Manual writers as they wade through the trash gnomes, reverse-centaurs, and dire koalas of the world. Thrill at their intense taxonomic debates about whether frogbears are properly amphibians or mammals. Marvel at the exotic locales to which they travel, and the locals who belittle them. Weep at their nonexistent paths to tenure and social lives, laid low by their inability to sympathize even with each other.

MC is a high schooler who gets transported to another world to prevent its takeover by the dark lord. As a harem gathers around him, he rides around saving people with his powers and being a champion of true love, hard work, and friendship. After a few episodes he wakes up from his dream. It's years later. The dark lord took over after all, but he introduced a variety of positive socioeconomic developments to the nations he conquered and hugely improved the lives of the common people. As a result, the heroes lost popular support and surrendered. The dark lord paid them off to live peacefully in his modernized society. The MC dated every girl in his harem but eventually they all got real jobs and left him. He spends the rest of the show hanging out with his old rival at the pub, getting drunk and licking the floor.

Average boring cowardly straight man protagonist has a doppelgänger that's Nippon's badest badass.
The show starts with how the craziest yakooza gang in the universe recruits the protag by mistake (thinking it's the other dude).

Craziness ensues.

Plots are over-the-top action together with SoL that circles around how the gang tries to take over the Tokyo underworld, fighting against other Yakuza gangs, po-po, aliens, you name it. (combine Black Lagoon, Saint's Row 2, Azumanga Daioh)
At the beginning the protagonist has a hard time coming to terms with his new life, but eventually gets used to it, and turns into a huge badass himself. There will be a twist to it, but I just wanted to draw some cool characters so I haven't thought it through fully.

Pic related. But I got bored after 3/4th and never bothered finishing it. Like how all characters were supposed to have qt animu girls tattooed all over their bodies in a classic Yakuza style.

The story starts with what looks like an archetypal JRPG/fantasy party of four marching through what seems to the last stretch of the big, bad godly villain's lair. During the final encounter, our main character, who's essentially the party's mage willingly sacrifices his life so that the main hero can deal the killing blow and save the world. The world is saved, but the now group of 3 are upset that they lost their mage and return home with their heads low and eventually live happily ever after.

Timeskip five years later, and our main character mage inexplicably wakes up alone in the now abandoned ruins of the lair, without a scratch, or even any sign of decay on his body. Ecstatic to be alive, he rushes out of the lair back to the surface only to find out that things are no where near as perfect as he envisioned them.

Through some sick twist of fate, our MC learns that the hero who led his party was sentenced to death and executed almost immediately after returning to town after their triumphant victory, and that one of the party members has been imprisoned for life, while the qt cat girl healer ran off and hasn't been seen since. To make matters worse, some townsfolk recognize our MC, and being certain he was dead they deem him an unholy abomination and a bounty is placed on his head, though our MC is smart enough to put together that it isn't that whoever put the bounty on his head thinks he's an abomination, but just wants to get him out of the way.

He teams up with his party leader's imouto to discover the truth as to why this is happening, who the villain they killed at the beginning truly was, a long-lasting corruption in the politics of the kingdom, and why and how our MC was inexplicably revived.

To add on top of this, he starts to gain the memories and some mannerisms of the villain from the beginning, which slowly pieces together a side of the story the MC was unaware of.

"I don't want to be the main character of my own romantic high school action adventure drama!"

>MC knows that he's the MC
>Lives with his eccentric father (who tries to free MC from the curse of being a main character) and his younger sister
>MC doesn't want to be the main character, and has trained extensively in order to spot any tropes.
>Mysterious new transfer student? Never interact with them, ever.
>Friends want to go peep on girls? Stay far away as possible
>Popular Ojou-sama wants the D? Politely reject her, then casually ignore her attempts at romance
>Giant monster attacking the city, and MC is selected to pilot a giant mecha? Fuck that, the military can handle it.
>Sister tries to seduce him? Call a therapist
>Plots begin getting even more out of whack, with demons taking over and MC switching bodies with an antelope
>Still manages to find a way back to normal.
>Eventually the planet starts ripping apart
>Huge cracks appearing in the sky
>MC has no clue what's going on, is teleported to the center of the Universe
>A loli is there, a representation of the Universe itself
>Universe-tan explains that by denying his role as a main character, MC has led to the destruction of this universe
>Without a defined role, the universe is splitting apart cause it can't decide whether its a world with demons or robots or a high school drama
>Universe-tan states that the only way to fix everything is to kill MC, as that will allow a new Main character to be chosen.
>MC refuses to die
>Universe-tan and MC fight
>Eventually MC accepts that he's the Main Character, but that 'THIS IS THE END OF MY SERIES!'
>Taps into his main character powers, destroys Universe-tan and everything goes back to normal
>Cuts to MC ten years later, married to a normal wife, working a normal job, normal children, but happy as can be.

> cuts back to the center of the Universe, with Universe-tan standing over the corpse of MC. Universe-tan shakes her head and walks away

One day people begin hearing the voices of the dead. They tell the world that god and heaven is real and that upon death no soul is judged to be unworthy. That's when the suicides started. First the religious fanatics, then those who heard those long lost, then those with nothing to lose. It's no trick: some of the recent suicide victims even come back as voices. There's just no downside to leave the struggle of life and join your ancestors above.

Our MC is a middle school teacher. And although he's heard his late wife, he's not budging. Unfortunately, the fate of his students is often outside of his control. He couldn't stop the school shooters. He couldn't stop the students from jumping off the second floor. He couldn't stop crazed parents who would take their children home one day only to never return. But damn it, as his classes begin to dwindle in size, he's going to try.

SIDE NOTE: MC's mentality would not be rare but would likely be the minority as many people seek the joy of heaven. I'd like to examine how society falls apart or perhaps sticks together in some places as people just keep disappearing. I want to look at the reactions of various leaders as well. Most importantly is the reactions of his students as they seek guidance outside of their loved ones. They would be the main focus of the show, with each person's motivations for staying alive or succumbing. How they deal with a dead parent or dead parents, how bullying evolves, how the law against murder stops being enforced. No idea how to end it, as usual.

This is most likely shit, but it's a concept I've been thinking about.

>Humanity and a large amount of other lifeforms flee underground due to an oncoming apocalypse scenario.
>Many generations later, the main two MCs are born as twins, and they gain an interest of the outside world.
>They promise to get to the surface, in a "legal" way or not, based on stories they've read.
>They manage to get to the surface, but everything seems normal, no smog or brimstone filled desert like they imagined.
>They start to argue with each other, one thinking it was all a conspiracy, while the other thinks the world might have just went back to normal.
>Cue the "antagonist", an somewhat decayed android.
>They slowly start to figure out he was the reason behind the armageddon rumors, all a part of a plan to keep the world from changing, like the technological singularity.
>The android is actually decaying over the many years its been alive, and it's judgement and "humanity" has been slipping, to the point where he wonders if what he is doing is the best course of action.
>The twins start out on a small journey learning of the inevitability of the end, and even the androids efforts are wasted. As well as their own.
>The end is coming near, so they just do what they can for the rest of their lives, and try to enjoy what little time they have left, and also to teach the android to accept it.

"There's no way I've reincarnated in a fantasy world as toothpaste, and what's my mom doing here!?!?"

Atsumane kun is your ordinary everyday japanese high school student, he doesn't attend school and has ESP. He lives with his single mother who works two jobs and has a policy of always being cheerful and trying to cheer her son up at all times. One day while at home he's practicing moving things around with his mind when he gets upset at how autistic he is and focuses really hard on pressuring his bathroom mirror, accidentally creating a rift to another world. He starts yelling as it drags him and some bathroom stuff in and his mother jumps to try to rescue him.

They arrive in the fantasy world in a barn, and there's the whole 'where are you atsumane?' and his mom starts crying but then he uses his esp to move himself (the toothpaste) and he will be a completely silent protagonist from not on, although the mother talks to him often. After being in the world for a while, the king's brother has just died and they as suspicious otherworlders are rounded up. What follows is a murder mystery where Atsumane uses his esp to try to clue his mother onto things, and her cheerful nature slowly gets tested and frayed as she misses her son. There's an episode where toothpastekun is accidentally thrown out, and the mother suspiciously goes and begs the king to help find it. She ends up saying it's just a memento of her son, and the King sends all his soldiers to find him. Each episode there is a different person who lives in the castle that the mother toothpaste and King clear of guilt by finding out the secret for why they weren't where they were supposed to be on that day etc. The whole time this is happening, the king starts to get the hots for ocasan, and when it's revealed that the king's brother omitted suicide, they comfort each other and get married and the toothpaste was just a toothpaste all along.

Phantasm, is a land that has always existed in mystery and never really understood by its own inhabitants. The history of the land dates back to the rise of its empire made by the Emperor who united its many different lands and people together, protecting it from various evils who challenged their power, until become a tyrant to keep order in society.

The Emperor was opposed by his two greatest students, the Archmages and a Knight who managed to seal him away. The two Archmages took over governing the land and the Empire that was built was divided into different kingdoms with their own dynasties and representatives in the Empire. The Knight who assisted them, became land of Phantom's new protector.

A golden age was brought forth and this continued on until the Knight and Archmages faded into legend...

Millennium have passed and the two largest kingdoms in the Empire: Old Iron Kingdom and the League of Dragons are at war with each other in order to promote their respective heirs as the successor to the Empire's dynasty after the previous one picked by the Archmages passed away.

The legendary Knight awakens from a deep slumber due to the fighting in the land and finds themselves in a brand new world as they are drawn into the fighting of the Iron-Dragon War, encountering new types of magic and enemies that they never seen before (As they didn't exist in his time.), which excites him as he will be able to die in the glory of combat.

The only thing that made the Knight one of the strongest person in his day was that: He was very good at killing things + he had a accelerated healing factor which made him survive some of the most fatal strikes.

Behind this war is a cult dedicated to the revival of the Emperor and restoration of the Old Empire.

She agrees, and the long journey home begins. But between the knight’s careless altruism, the relic peddler’s machinations, and the various needy strangers they meet along the road, will there be any apples left for the prince?

The story is told as an episodic adventure series with occasional episodes that advance the overall arc of the story, dealing with the knight and the relic peddler’s respective pasts. If possible, it would draw heavily from a musical style incongruous with the medieval setting. As the two travel, two additional characters join the group: the ghost of a martyr whose relics the peddler is carrying around for mysterious reasons, and a headstrong young man who appoints himself the knight’s squire. The stock of magical apples is a constant point of conflict, as are the inherent conflicts in the team’s personalities. The final act deals with the knight’s return home and the events that transpire there, with a more bitter than sweet conclusion.

An aspiring stage and street magician attempts to perform his master's signature trick and accidentally sends himself to a fantasy world where "magic is REAL" and spells and sorcery are commonplace. With only his wits and a literal bag of tricks at his disposal, our muggle MC must duel other actual wizards and mages while finding a way to return home.

World ends, groups of people are sent back to the beginning of time with their bodies and memories intact. They either become “observers” or “historians” (placeholder name), able to either observe the changing landscapes of the world (similar to the God of the New Testament) or change the outcome of the world (similar to mythological gods or the God of the Old Testament). The show follows both an observer and a historian throughout the entire history of this new Earth. Other notes: observers are able to influence the world, but not directly. They can “descend” to Earth and attempt to cause the lifeforms (protozoan all the way to highest evolved life) to change the world on their own. Historians can also influence others to shape the world, but prefer to do it themselves. Both observers and historians are immortal, unaging, and unable to be seen unless they want to be. Though the observers and historians are not opposing factions, the two main characters have slightly different ideal visions of the world (neither good nor bad: there’s no real “protagonist” or “antagonist” in the series).

I don't quite see the point. What are the stakes? You can't just create their role without a purpose. Their attempts at changing the outcome of events sounds more like wish fulfillment unless you had some greater philosophical question.

A student has the power of persuasion. He's basically able to get anyone in his presence to do whatever he wants. With that great power comes responsibility and he's learned to be subtle about his influence, using it here and there, building his status, establishing rules with who he influences, slowly revolving the whole school around him.

One day a transfer student comes in. She's immediately received with great fanfare and the whole class applauds at her introduction. All expect MC. It's obvious to both what they are. Now it's a battle. Will they coexist, or can there only be one?

Side note: The plot can take itself in a million directions. Ultimately, I think that the two can never truly coexist, but I want to spend the show seeing them try. I want to explore what their individual rules are, how the subtle background manipulator clashes with the overt attention grabber. How both play endless mind games over social groups and "who's influencing who." An epic game of love and hate, of the meaning true loyalty and sincerity. See how they try to elevate themselves in power struggles (school president election arc, anyone?). See how far they get by themselves, let the viewer decide if the characters are actually using their powers or if they're just being themselves.

I'd try to prop up the girl as this badass unstoppable schemer, only for the perspective to switch and we see her as exhausted as MC. I'd set up a scene where MC fails to prevent a close friend's suicide, with transfer girl hugging him in the end despite their bitter rivalry. I want to see a truce and relationship form between them as they learn that they don't have to fight. But in the end an uncontrollable force causes them to come at odds, leading to an epic escalation arc where people form outside the school get involved, from police to government and then military. There'd be a huge buildup, I have no idea how to end this.

A knight(MC) battling on the frontline against a monster invasion is forcefully called back to the kingdoms capital. From there the king and nobles had summoned someone from an other world, this person will be a 'hero' and will save the kingdom. The MC task is to protect the hero on his journey to defeat the demon king.

The story follow the perspective of the knight as he accompanies the hero. Watching as the hero is given the silver-spoon treatment with everything. The tragic tale of how a man put blood, sweat, and tears to raise in the ranks forced to watch as someone who never once held a weapon given everything on a silver-platter.

Further elaboration: MC would be some school sports hotshot thanks to his powers and his favorite thing to do is to go around solving the problems of others that he stumbles upon like its natural (but it's not). He keeps several of his closest peers uninfluenced in an act of honesty, and I would examine their thoughts of MC's behavior as the show goes on. I would also show him keeping his parents normal. His greatest fear is becoming irrelevant to those around him.

The girl is all about bravado. She sees her gift as something to be flaunted, something distinct that gives everyone a good time. While her way of doing things is initially seen as cocky and arrogant, it also allows her to better utilize her abilities, having her constantly cream the MC on her thoughts alone. Her biggest fear is being alone; this stems from her mother's suicide, which she believes she may have caused.

Both utilize their knowledge of each other's rules and limits to perform a constant one-up battle; sabotage of love interests, control over close friends, abuse of secrets and fears. I think after they go too far near the halfway point and that's when the show shifts toward their romance.

The show would probably talk about the "crisis," which is the inevitable existential crisis that persuaders feel when they realize that their entire lives are fake.

Also, no they can't influence each other. That's why their greatest weapon is others.

A hundred years after all of humanity was wiped out, a boy and a girl wake up in a bunker deep underground. The two are part of a program that is designed to have them repopulate the Earth if needed. To do this they are cryogenically frozen until they are automatically defrosted. This only happens if the system shuts down or the Earth is considered inhabitable after someone triggers the Apocalypse Alarm.
The two were considered prodigies in their time and were considered perfect candidates to rebuild civilization. However they both have secrets that may impact their survival. The boy actually replaced his twin brother because he didn't want him to waste his life doing this. Unlike his brother, he's a moron who only his brother liked. The girl on the other hand is a lesbian.
After a storm destroys their shelter's entrance they set out to explore the new world. Throughout their journey of repopulating the Earth they meet strange creatures that either trade or attack them. They learn that they're the only survivors of the human race and that everyone else involved in the project disappeared mysteriously.
The two travel around the world, searching for clues about what happen. Through old records and writings they slowly come closer to the truth: climate change is real.

The voice of fire
Monster girls are invading our world in massive numbers, bringing only chaos. Vigilante groups styled after Crusaders and fantasy paladins and clerics form due to lack of government response, seeking to purge the monster girls from the world in reprisal.

Our MC is a young blond man was preshred by a friend to join his local group known as the World Guard 404. Despite his outward appearance as loyal, skilled guardsman, his secret is that he dosen't like fighting

Meanwhile, a family of cute tanuki girls try crazy scams each week to make money. When they backfire, the tanuki retreat back to the forest to come up with a new scam. However, the youngest one has regrets about following her sisters' lifestyle because she has a crush on MC, though she doesn't have the courage to reveal her love due to his public persona.

However a female paladin who has been tasked with hunting down traitors has already proposed marriage to the MC. He is also under threat from a magical ogre queen who was exiled to this new world. The pages of the ogre queen's spellbook have been scattered, leaving her weakened. She vows collect the magic pages and recruit local monsters to restore her kingdom.

"Speed Square"

Our MC is a girl who has no interest in making friends in her new class. She is very rude, narcissistic, and also flat-chested. As a result, she often ends up breaking people's cherished possessions.

She stores damaged objects all throughout her home. These pieces of damaged furniture and other items scare her, emitting a strange aura due to their damages. She can see this aura due to the teachings of of her grandparents. They taught her that each piece of furniture and housewares should be respected. Though she desires to repair these items, she has no skills or tools.

One day, she hears a loud hammering and the whirring of power tools coming from her neighbor's backyard. When she goes to look, she sees her classmates cutting wood and building furniture. Inspired by their skills (and big boobs) she asks the other girls if they could give her guidance in the art of furniture repair.

Every day she learns the ins and outs of DIY construction and repair, and uses these skills to restore her possessions, healing the objects' auras, and as her skills grow so too does her chest.

I like most of it a lot but the setting. If they can influence other people so easy keeping it limited to school sounds too childish to make it enjoyable in the long run. The second issue I got with this is urgency, they both have to act pretty silly to cause any conflict and given their powers, most of the stuff sounds too easy to solve. Third is not a biggie but I feel like her "fear of loneliness" is too common and cliche.

I'd either limit their power a lot or scale up the conflict sooner with all the government and military coming into the play at start of the second act and not the near end.

Guy workes for a company in Tokyo as an office drone.
He develops a crush on a coworker but it doesn't work out. Things become awkward so he takes a transfer to a small town. People give him shit for being from the city but he makes friends with one girl. Towns people tease him more about it but he doesn't truly understand why. He tries to take their relationship to the next level and then her father beats the shit out of him because she was a lot younger than he thought she was.
He leaves the town and moves into a small isolated house halfway up a mountain. He works only online now and rarely sees any other people. He meets a mysterious woman occasionally but only ever just after sunset. They become friends and soon enough he tries confessing to her saying something like "I know you're a fox but would you like to make miso for me every day?" (or whatever that traditional marriage proposal is)
And she says ".... I'm not a fox and I only like you as a friend"
He walks out into the night headed further up the mountain taking only the clothes on his back a laptop and a solar pannel recharging station

The locals now say that on a quiet evening you can hear him shitposting from friendzone mountain

A student of necromancy at the local magic university is tasked with the retrieval of a rare artifact from a sprawling labyrinth beneath the town. He encounters all kinds of weird monsters, stupid puzzles, and badly designed architecture that he complains about endlessly in his salty inner monologue. Not to mention the skeletons. Thousands and thousands of mute, rambunctious skeletons, swarming all over the place, constantly flipping their shit, flirting with him one moment and trying to kill him the next, and pretty much doing everything they can to piss him off.

To reach the artifact, he must outsmart death traps and the wild beasts that roam the labyrinth. To escape with his life, he must cultivate enough power to navigate the political dynamics of the fantasy races that dwell in the lower levels. And in the end, if he wants to keep his pride, he'll have to give up his humanity.

I'm three chapters into a WN of this nonsense but I'm not in a good position to make regular updates right now

A slice of life set in a rural village in 1870s Japan as the nation undergoes Westernisation. There are two main characters, a middle aged yuropoor and a native loli. The man was a foreign military advisor under the British during the Boshin War, during which he performs some kind of heroic action which saves the life of the aforementioned little girl. He ends up adopting her because she's an orphan now and nobody will have her and when the war is over he is granted permission to settle in relatively far off and lowly populated region like Tohoku.

The story is about their life in a village as everyone is faced with change. The man struggles with living in the more traiditional society while the locals struggle with its modernisation and losing it entirely and the loli serves as a bridging point between the two. Most of the villagers are initially cautious of the newcomers, especially the foreigner, but the little gir's innate curiosity and outgoingess ends up endearing most of them to her and then as a result him as well. The guy builds a whiskey still and becomes drinking buddies with a laid back monk who also helps him better integrate into the local society. Tension is introduced by the difficulties brought on by westernisation as the introduction of more liberal economic policies change the price of basic commidites and the creation of factories in nearby cities puts local artisans under a lot of pressure but the benefits are also shown as an education law is implemented which sees the construction of a local school and more modern tools and luxuries find their way into the village improving production and quality of life for some. In one episode when a nearby railway is built and all of the locals get see a train for the first time and the loli rides it and has lots of fun.

It's kind of like a reverse Ikoku Meiro No Croisee.
