Has Azumanga Daioh aged well?

Yeah, why not? people still memed about this show.

I've never liked the anime much, but the manga is still excellent.

I got older, but the girls stayed the same age

I think so, but it's very "of its time". Ebaumsworld, YTMND, SA, Newgrounds. That's what comes to mind mostly.

yeah. I watched it for the first time maybe a year or two ago and it's better than most CGDCT I've seen.

honestly 97-07 is the golden decade of anime and pretty much everything within that decade is still perfectly watchable. it's not even until you start dipping into the early 80s when stuff gets iffy.

I watched it for the first time last year, it was funny as fuck. Saying it is dated is like saying Great Teacher Onizuka is dated.

I think it's only dated in that it has early digital animation. But even then, I consider it to be just fine.

Although it may depend on how many modern anime traits you feel are needed.
