It started very strong, but the fact of the matter it only barely manages to cobble itself together for its final act and finishes on a modest note.

It's fine if it's your favorite series, but don't hail it as the first or even the second best when its predecessor steadily increases in quality as it goes along, and both its progenitor and its successor are more consistent in their terms of overall quality.

I respect Takahashi's work and his art, and despite its faults, I enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh! as a franchise.

Even a toyetic anime is still a piece of media that a staff put work into. To say that 5Ds is an objectively better project than its contemporaries isn't just silly, it's disrespectful to other installments in the franchise that are clearly better than it.

The only thing they managed to do was make all the previous ED methods useless with the rule change. What's even worse is that they don't even hit the current meta, since stuff like Kozmos and Monarchs don't even use the ED and Zoodiac can work within the one-monster restriction pretty easily. It's the stuff that already wasn't topping that was hit by the ED bullshit.

Gotta say, I would've preferred that Domino Monster fan concept from a while back to Links, because at least that would've let us continue playing with our old stuff.

Make the brocon aspect her entire character after getting 1 duel and just never dueling on screen again..this IS yoshida writing however even he can't stop Aoi for 100 plus episodes unless he makes her decide she only dueled to get her brother's attention and now that he's a good boy she gives up dueling.

To put it into prospective Asuka dueled a total of 11 times on screen with 8 of those being her own, 3 of them being tag duels and 2 of them being her underbrain washing in 180 plus episodes

Aki dueled on screen in 5Ds a total of 8 times, 7 of them being by herself, 1 of them being while she was teamed with Crow in 5Ds 150 episodes

Even through Arc-V wasn't written by Yoshida, for comparison's sake, Yuzu only dueled 8 times, 6 of them were by herself with 2 being tag duels with partners Gongenzaka and Sora in Arc-V's 140 plus run.

Aoi's at best going to get 8 duels and at worse get only 5 or 3.
