Outdated shitty internal codecs that fucks episodes from time to time. Every VLC user that doesn't know what codecs are just change players after redownloading the same episode thinking it's the episode fault.

I've seen in a lot of forums people complaining that X episode was badly coded because they couldn't watch it properly or had audio or video issues. When asked every single one said the same "I use VLC, it's the best player, so it's your fault".

And even when it reproduces it with "no problems" it tend to fuck the colours as seen in OP image. Because of outdated codecs.

I prefer FFDSHOW + evr CP. With ffdshow you can rescale your video too, (actually you must otherwise colors get wrong) it has deband filters as well and many more useful tools than LAV.

I don't like MADvr because it can't handle RGB video and it is a pain to rescale the video using the numpad. It is also not precise on frame by frame jumping with the arrow keys.

I actually experience something similar, I'm 99% sure that there is no hardware limitation, however, in some cases it appears like the picture just skips or stutteres without any reason. I'm fairly certain it just has to do something with how anime's being made, since I don't experience any sich phenomena with real-life action.

It has been a long time since I read up on it but if i remember the basics this happens because the file is read in a way that references key frames and then changes what is displayed based on the difference between the current frame and the key frame. This shit happens because the key frame was lost and so the video output is referencing the wrong frame or is referencing an empty neutral value.

It references key frames, because that's how the codec works, it cannot operate in any other way, only the key frames are actually complete, everything else is just made as a reference from these key frames, which makes playing forward rather smooth and nice, since only slight alterations have to be made for each aditional frame, however, if you want to go to a specific frame, then the player has to go to your chosen time, go back to a key frame and play from the key frame to your frame of choice, especially fast backwarding or going frame by frame backwards is extremely painful and takes ages comparatively, since the whole process has to repeat for each individual frame, it's not like gif or analog VHS, where each frame is an individual picture, so you can just have to go to the previous one.

That's where picture breaking comes in, if the player just doesn't load the key frame properly or screws up the playback, it will just display things incorrectly until it comes across a proper key frame to render again. got that 50 inch Pioneer 101FD Signature Elite Kuro (also related - Kuro KRP 500M) from some richfag in Orange, CA for just 400 bux on craigslist back in January. My 101FD is heavily moddified in thr service menu. I managed to further lower the black level, or "plasma glow" without negtive effects. My 101FD plasma is now infinite black like LG OLED. I'm not kidding when i say this plasma actually gives "depth" in 2d anime.

Pioneer Kuro era plasma are almost burn in resistant. You can console/pc game with this wirhout care and will not show burn in. Color accuracy out of the box (Pure mode) is reference grade.
