Remember, she also kept quiet about the Invisible Thing despite knowing about it in NT4, only to admit later on that she wasn't entirely sure what it was and that Kagun might have known more. It just seems to me like she selectively ignores gaps in her knowledge in order to seem smarter to who she talks to. Touma's just the type of guy for whom this ploy works especially well.

How canon even is the Railgun manga? Fucking everyone seems to meet 10032 and learn that Mikoto has at least one sister, but it's never brought up in the LNs, and neither is her level 6 shift.
Misaki may have changed everyone's memories, but Touma should have canceled that out the first time he touched his head.
Not to mention Misaka actually sees the dragon but conveniently forgets about it when Touma tries to stop the comet.

From what I recall, it was a mix of the two.

Some of it was explained outright in other novels. Some would have had hints scattered throughout 24-25 novels released over the course of 7 or 8 years.

If you binge read it, it doesn't shock me you retained enough of the little hints to form the correct theories.

I don't think any of the exposition in NT2 was brand new, but it did make losts of stuff clearer.

I actually enjoyed NT2 because the magic lesson was interspaced with fun character interactions.

Well with Kamachi you never know what you're gonna get considering how he tries something new every volume. NT3 would probably be an example of something that sounded really good in his head and ended up not so great once written.

However I always thought people were overreacting about the last few NT volumes. I haven't seen any decline in his other series. Hell, Blood Sign has been great and HO EX was really good too.

I'd complain about Yuiitsu, but then I remember everyone in GRS except Acqua, who either had stupid motivations or none at all. Kamisato is alright but his sluts dragged down his character and his arc I'll admit.
