Naruto is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and DARKNESS. Naruto is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Naruto threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.

I started watching Boruto out of Naruto nostalgia.

The OP is really nice, but the episodes just really feel flat. Early Naruto had many dimensions, Naruto being an outcast, Sasuke and his issues, the rest of the cast dealing with their shit. It felt organic, like you could feel something growing. Like things were going somewhere.

Boruto episodes just feel flat. This whole power-controlling arc just seems hamfisted. Episode one was good, but 'kid being taken over by power demon' is growing stale by episode 5.

I feel it could have been done in a much better way. The magic of early Naruto and early Shippuden just isn't there.
