I wouldn't call the OST amazing but it is definitely high tier.

I am a massive sucker for piano, Mitsuha's theme is so nice, with a sad tint to it. You can hear it was recorded from an actual piano as well because you can hear the movement of the keys and pedals being pushed. I think it gives it a more intimate feel.

It's honestly fine. It goes to show that Mitsuha had a part in the date more than just setting it up off-screen. She wanted to intervene and see if Taki and her were more compatible than just being body-switchers. The music does well to set her part of the journey and motive in seeking more beyond her usual "teenage gal's life" attitude.

Opening weekend was really a mixed bag of people, I got there kind of early so I got to see everyone arrive

I'm curious, though, if people think this is the pivotal moment for Shinkai where he grows as a director, or if this was a fluke and his next project will be mediocre in comparison.

I just watched this fucking movie for the second time. I watched it for the first time in the theaters in jan in korea subbed and second time dubbed in the US.

They butchered "katawaredoki" in the korean subs
they butchered the watashi ore joke in the english dub
they butchered musubi in the dub

totally worth a rewatch, though the emotions are way less intense
