The point is that it doesn't have to make sense, people get mad about Goku being seemingly hurt by a bullet. They can write the story however they want, it's not non-fiction. There is nothing to even make that an inconsistency either, it is shown almost constantly during dragon ball that the characters can be hurt "easily" if they are off-guard or rusty.

Not only that, but Goku may be immune to regular diseases as well and this was supposedly a very powerful heart virus, and according to TOORUNKSOO if you die to the virus it is "natural causes" and the dragon balls cant bring you back from that.

In the anime, Zamasu started out questioning why gods protect mortals despite all their failures and seems more frustrated that the gods sat back and did nothing. Something that he does have a point about to an extent. Overall, Zamasu wasn't talking about killing all mortals, but either taking a more hands on approached with dealing with them or stop protecting them since they don't deserve it.
Manga Zamasu, wanted to kill mortals from the start and he never asked Gowasu about his beliefs. He outright said that 'unneeded lifeforms' should be destroyed. Gowasu is also more of a moron in the sense that he seemed to chose Zamasu based on his battle power and didn't know that Zamasu hated humans until he sliced the Barbarian, while anime Gowasu was aware of the issue and was trying to gently guide him to the right path, although he was utterly blind to Zamasu's growing darkness after meeting Goku. Most of anime Gowasu's problem is that he doesn't seem to be aware that pure is not always good and black and white insanity.

Originally pretty excited for them, I'm not one to be fussed with power scaling consistencies, but if I were working on the series myself it'd constantly be there at the back of my mind because if I didn't adhere enough to it I'd piss off half of my viewerbase. Regarding the episodes themselves - personally, I wanted to catch up with the other characters before the actual tournament began.

That being said I enjoyed the Krillin and 18 episode for the fact Krillin did some pretty neato shit, and loved the sparring match between Krillin and Goku - the pacing and overall quality of the episode was pretty good, memes about Gohan jobbing aside. It was nice to see 18 regain some of her snarky personality and I would love to see more of that.

As of the two most recent episodes, other than the sparring between Goku and 17 in the first episode of the two parter, I was actually sorely disappointed by the writing, pacing and plot.

I'm sorry but it was outright boring, outside of the warm fuzzy feelings of watching 17 and Goku get along, 17 himself was rather poorly written and had the personality of a statue. This was not the 17 I wanted to see, now I know some of you are going to say "17 has matured, he's grown up" - Fuck no, growing up and maturing doesn't mean you become a completely apathetic sack of shit, that's what they did to Goha... oh no... OH NO.

Any tension and drama was artificially and forcefully written into the episodes, drawn out and just uninteresting. Most of the second episode had me screaming "Why? That's so fucking stupid? Why is your character so fucking stupid?" at both 17 and Goku.

So yeah, tl;dr I wouldn't mind GOOD episodes of character catchup and development leading up to the actual tournament, even if it takes a few months, but the last 2 episodes have me questioning whether I could continue to give a shit. I was pretty hype for 17's return too, oh well.
