Because authors need a backup plan to keep the reader's interest high for when they run out of ideas for their manga, so they shove in some shitty ""romance""which consists in nothing more than one or more girs lusting over the MC's dick while he acts completely clueless about it. In the best case scenario the MC will end up with the girl (or one of the girls) in the few last chapters, nevermind how little romantic development that led to this decision may have taken place beforehand, if any at all; otherwise there will simply be no resolution, despite all the foreshadowing.
