I rewatched golden age yesterday and honestly, I felt pretty bad for Griffith right up to the point where he made the sacrifice despite knowing how it would end. Dude was tortured and went through immense emotional trauma, and it culminated in him making a desperate shitty choice to sacrifice his comrades. But after he became Femto it was too late, he no longer felt remorse or anything, and basically became a piece of shit.
