Half the country is pretty isolated, so you can imagine. There's an ongoing an "National Broadband Network" project that's ongoing that's been a bit of a shitfest, but it's done well enough improving rural connections. I've seen more than a few anons showing speedtests from dial-up tier quality connections.

In metropolitan/suburban areas though speed is mostly adequate, but a lot of areas get bottlenecked to shit as soon as peak normie hours hit. I get 24/1 ADSL2+ or what have you. Functionally I get 1400kB/s max on a SINGLE torrent, so if there's two equal going i can get 700kB/s on each.

It also drops out every now and then for 10~ seconds and have to do ipconfig/release-renew. For what ever magical reason, I just randomly loose connection to DNS server.

We had a whole 'upgrade the interbutts' thing going on for the last decade (in an out because muhLeader keeps changing and each team keeps putting their dick in the funding or killing it completely). Fibre optics as the backbone down our streets is easily a decade away. So there's like no use in owning a gigabit router/modem, yet alone a 100mb.

Just our companies being jews honestly. I used to have fibre (NBN is govt program) but that was with a different company that in 2005~ laid fibre cables, but won't rent them to opposing companies. So they had monopoly on the fibre speeds, but even then I was not getting 100mB/s, certainly more than what I have now, but not the max available.

Our shitshow stems from the telco monopoly that used to be held across the country, it's started to change but it's slow as fuck. Endless arguments of 'who pays for the fibre infrastructure' has delayed all this.
