The last episode made me reel back into my seat a bit, but I don't think the show was really that serious at any point. Kobayashi's attitude was mainly just mellow. Aside from the last episode--which honestly felt pretty forced at some points--I don't think the show got serious at all more than it just stopped being DORAGON SHENANIGANS for 2 minutes and just slipped into the clothes of a more lazy-river slice of life.

Last episode was definitely the worst, but it did have some serious parts before. Everytime it goes to "but you're a dragon, dragons can't love humans" territory it's awful, and the sentimental parts seems straight out of saturday morning cartoon (but more gay).
