Ive never purchased any anime related item aside from some shonen jumps when I was quite young (and didnt even know what manga/anime was), but today I picked up Volume 1 of Overlord from a bookstore today.

what no ive read all the volumes, all the manga and watched the anime lol. Though I have yet to watch the specials ive consumed all the overlord content I can lol. Just first time actually liking a series enough to go out to buy a book.

FE's class promotions aren't that different, you get X levels as Y class, then reclass, etc.
The question is, would Overlord work well in a tactical RPG framework? It's good that it can handle multiple characters fighting at one, but many of the actual battles in the series are actually 1 vs many curbstomp massacres... maybe it could handle things with "gimmicky" stages. Like "objetive: don't let brain escape", "kill x, y, z under five turns", etc.

The way you handle overlord as a game is that for every scene you do something, you have at least 5 scenes of world building and misunderstandings, even if it's something trivial that you did.

Or forget about the main storyline and focus on side-stories, like focusing on Climb as >>156304902 said or prequels (like Momonga's mmo adventures, black scripture's old adventures, blue rose's story, etc). It's hard to make something interesting with the Nazarick main cast because they literally can't level and are too overpowered. Maybe you could do something with the pleiades or generic units, but that's it.

The game can be based around managing resources (gold and your army).
You begin at lv100 with your guild and you create undead while subjugating the NW and adding them to your forces and wealth.
Other players, strong NW creatures like dragons, wci and other stuff are your biggest threats.
Make wrong moves like sending cocytus somewhere and he suddenly gets ambushed by a player and you need to use lots of gold to revive him.
