17-18: 2-parter that leads to Akko awakening the Fifth Word; build up for Chariot and Croix's backstory and Diana's eventual involvement in the background
19: Diana backstory, something happens that triggers Diana and she becomes a bit edgy
20: Triggered Diana lashes out at Akko and Ursula and reveals everything to Akko, does something stupid that ends up aiding Croix's plan. Akko is forced to confront Chariot's failure.
21: Akko saves Diana from herself.
22: Full backstory of Chariot and Croix.
23: Croix's plan is in full effect, everything seems lost, Croix goes off the deep end. Andrew manages to calm the citizens and give the witches a chance to stop Croix.

People are still making predictions on the assumptions that the Great Triskelion won't be opened until the final episode, but of Croix truly is Diana that never "grew-up" maybe she artificially opens the Great Triskelion earlier and the main conflict isn't unsealing it but sealing Croix's corrupted version again.

That's a feeling I have a lot with this show, that they downplay the story and characters for wacky Akko scenes. It really should have been Lotte who saved the day, breaking out of her passivity to rescue her friends and family.

The thing is that if they drag it out much longer the show basically becomes about Akko and Diana and you might as well erase everyone else other than Chariot and Croix. a) Diana becomes Akko's partner/"Lancer" after episode 20-21; they actively work together during the final arc
b) Diana suffers a serious breakdown, rejects everything about her lineage and joins Croix; she turns coat around episode 23-24.
c) Something similar to option b) but instead of joining Croix she becomes a third faction that's actively working against both Croix and Akko and ultimately joins Akko in episode 23~.

I keep thinking about it, but option a) feels like the healthiest choice. Nothing about the OP or the key visual or the ED or any interview hints any of the other 2 happening. The alternatives feel too wonky or too dramatic.
