The funny thing is that even with all the blessed mumbo jumbo, I find the reactions of the characters very much genuine / real

Been reading fire punch since chapter 1 and I almost shed a tear when I read this part, and I rarely ever get heavily feels when reading.

What you wanted makes zero fucking sense in this story at all nor would it fit her character one bit. She's old and jaded as fuck, even knowing the pain doesn't actually get much of a rise out of her nor should it. Also:

No it's because she wanted to. Agni only kept living because his sister gave him a massive drive to do so, yeah he needed strong regen too but he could have let himself go, in fact that's what he was planning here, to give up and die. Now he's been given a mental force once again although this time around it's more like a curse.
