My examples have shading, style, varying line weight. They look beautiful and are superior to flat looking modern anime.

Jotaro Kujo's color scheme in the OVA is better, and he has a far better facial structure too. 2014 Jojo's is flat, too sharp, has a bland jacket color, and is poorly shaded.

I like JoJo because of the OVA, but with the anime, nah, not the same.

Jotaro's color scheme in the 2014 show is better, he has a wide-ass face like a neanderthal. Everyone's face is way too wide. I genuinely thought I fucked up the aspect ration when I first saw it. OVA JoJo looks like a character from a low-rent King of Fighters knockoff.

The OVA looks like every other overly washed-out, generically edgy anime from the early 90s. It isn't, but it sure looks like it is.
