If you're wondering why Maya and Ido had to go into data sharing mode instead of Maya simply downloading Ido and then getting out of there, I am assuming it has to do with memory restrictions. As in data storage.

While the show hasn't addressed it. I am assuming that the mind of a person is quite the intense data load. I don't think the typical I-machine is equipped to house multiple minds.
Besides, the data sharing mode seemed to be optimal choice either way.

I actually liked Active Raid quite a bit. It worked quite well as a modernized rescue police metal hero show.

What if Mysterious Girl is the mind-child of Maya and Ido after they mind-merged and uploaded their consciousness data to the orichalt crystal? After all, orichalt has mysterious properties and is linked to some kind of different space dimension.

It doesn't really seem like I-Machines were a thing for too long though, space exosuits - and likely remote-controlled robots, although it hasn't really been mentioned I think - existed for a long time already and it feels like I-Machines are a thing for something like 30-40 years maybe.

The rapid expanse into space was thanks to the discovery of Orichalt and its hyperspace magic, but I assume that was way, way before mind transfer technology became possible.

But I kind of got the impression that mankind never really made a real breakthrough in mining orichalt, enabling them to utilize it well, until after I-machines. Though that could very well just be hapless assumptions on my part.

I thought we saw plenty of planning and preparation for a 22 minute episode that isn't exclusively concerned with the initial part. Remember this is a 12 episode show, so the pace can't slow down a ton.

Even so, I don't know how the episode supports that last statement at all. She got like less than a minute of screen time at the very end.
